Scorching

Friday 5 July 2013

I hear it's going to be a scorcher today. And tomorrow. Yippee! Well sort of yippee - I don't like being too hot actually just like I don't like being to cold. No pleasing some is there? Anyway, quicky post. School run outfit today ....

White H&M Organic Cotton Cardi, Gap Dress, Converse, Monsoon Belt, Susie Ho Bracelet, Hobbs NW3 Bag

A simple grey jersey dress for light easy wearing. Dress it up, dress it down, don't dress it at all - it's your perogative. But for me today when it hots up - lose all the accessories, swap Converse for sandals and I'm ready for the heat. Briiinngg it on!

Comfy rules!

Hope you have a scorching weekend wherever you are!

  1. Heatwave forecast here also .. for the next TEN days!!! Wheeee! Love, love that dress - clearly it's something that I could only wear in the privacy of my back garden, but it looks gorgeous on you. God, you do casual SO WELL!

    1. Ten days! Crikey oh riley! That's it, I'm off to get a paddling pool - feel a bit mean when I watch George trying to sit in a B&Q orange bucket (I am serious).

Get sunning! It's good for you, I understand?

And the dress - very easy and very comfy. I love jersey dresses - I'm comfort all the way (love elasticated waistbands almost as much as pockets).

  2. Sue, you've just reminded me to dust off my jersey dresses. Just came in after spending half a day outside. Yipppeeeee!!

  3. Lovely outfit - perfect for the heatwave. Listen, if you find that heatwave, could you remind it that it's supposed to be in Belfast also please? It seems to have gotten lost en route...I'm sat indoors in jeans and a cardi! Have a super weekend Sue, Ax

  5. Great outfit! I especially love the bag colour against the grey and white. I love jersey dresses too much but I can't wear spaghetti straps anymore. Have a great weekend!

    1. Neither can I but if it's hot, it's hot. I've come to realise - I might not like my arms but they are better than some! Have a lovely weekend! Off to find that paddling pool.

    1. Yes I'll pop it in the shop next week. This is one of those bracelets I made for myself and the kind I like wearing - it doesn't rattle too much and is very simple. I'll put a few of my other button bracelets on as well. Keep your eye out.

    1. Thanks Anne Marie. That's my little bargain from the Monsoon outlet gong for about £2. I liked the colours - a bit different from the norm.

    1. Really? I wouldn't have known going by the pictures you've done recently. I'm on a bit of a roll with Gap this year - they keep putting out the odd little gem such as this little dress. My only worry is that it is a high modal content (hope it doesn't pill or anything).

Oh yes - I'm sure the sun will reach you soon.

    1. I'm getting the distinct impression that the sun has not made it across to your shores then? It read 28 degrees in the car today and I just checked for tomorrow 26 - woo hoo. Paddling pool here I come (no not really).

But fingers crossed for you and get the legs out anyway.

    1. I know - all week! Now have I got enough dresses I wonder?

  12. Now there's a jersey dress I can get behind! I went and tried the ones you tipped me about in H&M but they looked all wrong on me - I think it might have been the sleeves. I love that this one has straps!

    1. Did you try the drawstring one with sleeves? Or the sleeveless one? This one is actually quite a nice walking around the city dress now that I think about it. Perfect for your NY adventure. A decent length too though it will probably be mid thigh on you given that you have quite a few inches on me. Another one to try out maybe?

    1. Dress is current - loads in store that I've seen but no small dinky sizes left online. And the bracelet will be going on the shop ... soon.

I never got my arms out till about two years ago when I finally thought sod it. It's too hot. Still not keen but no one has fainted from the sight yet so I guess I'm okay. We all have our little funny things we're not happy with don't we?

    2. Indeed! Time to try not to be so funny. In some ways.

  19. I love the way you dress. So real and wearable. You give me ideas for how to pair my own things! It's scorching hot here, too, and I think tomorrow I'll pull out my Gap maxi. Need a cross body, though. Wish Boden Fall was out already... they have one I'm waiting for.

    1. I have to keep it real or I would have to change all the time. First and foremost is comfort for me. Sometimes, it can come second but on the whole, I strive to be comfortable first because if I'm not, I get mean.

  20. Oh such a lovely dress. And indeed very diverse :) Maybe I go visit some of the nearby GAPs soon :)

  21. Wooo...I like the first look. Jersey dress with cardy and paired with converse. Somehow that converse provides a lil ruggedness to the dress..perfect balance and it adds a little unexpectedness to it.
