A Lovely Box

Friday 12 July 2013

White Ranger : Guys, guys! Over here! There's a strange box that's just arrived!

Good Spiderman : Wonder what it is? Shall I take a nosey?

Elmo : Yeah! Elmo keep watch incase Her Royal Shoppingness comes back.

Bad Spiderman : Hurry up Spidey, these turrets are hurting my bum!

Good Spiderman opening the box : Sob. Sob. It's something from Matches - not Toys R Us! I was rather hoping for .... BARBIE.

The nice DHL man (previously mentioned) dropped off a large brown box, inside which was another large box. The inner large box is awesome. I have never bought anything from Matches before but if you get boxes like this, I might make this more of a habit ;o) I'm a high street shopper - you get a plastic bag normally and some of the "posher" ones give you a nice paper one so you can feel a little bit more special.

I think ... this beats the Net a Porter black boxes. What do you think? Or are there better boxes out there to be had? Which shops do the best packaging in your opinion and how much does this count as part of the shopping experience? These things matter you know. Or maybe just to me.

    1. Well I'd love some pretty orange boxes too but I think that's a pipe dream.

But it is a good box isn't it? Especially if you're not expecting it.

    1. Honestly Maja - the box was more impressive than the content or else I wouldn't have extolled it's virtues so!

    1. Honestly it's not that exciting. If you know me - it will be something quite plain and non fashion. Something like everything else in my wardrobe (not that exciting).

    1. Matches is like Net a Porter like My Wardrobe and all the other high end designer online shops. Something I'm obviously unfamiliar with (but if I had the funds ... I would have more boxes).

  10. Ahhh what did you get? The suspense is killing me!

I love the look of these boxes but I have to say I prefer the NAP ones since I love that they are sleek and black. Anyway. What's inside?!

  12. LOL, LOL, LOL!!!!!! I'm late checking out my blogs ... so I'm hoping that all will be revealed in another post. And yes, I totally agree that packaging is very important. One of the great thing about the ban on plastic bags in Ireland a few years ago, is that everything is now presented in a nice paper bag, which occasionally even have ribbon ties! Oooh posh :)

    1. Ribbon ties - seriously posh :o)

Don't get your hopes up about it being anything too exciting. You know me - I like my things plain, simple and unadorned.

  15. Oh Matches boxes are gorgeous! I've not shopped with them before but I do keep my NAP black boxes, so handy for storing things! I must say I'm a total sucker for good packaging!! The Outnet send my (bulky) sweater orders complete with padded hangers and a large protector bag, does make it feel rather special!

Hope George had a lovely birthday :o) x
