Witchypoo Shoes

Wednesday 23 September 2015

Sezane Breton (past season), Jack Wills Jeans (old), Mango Jacket (old), Office Shoes (old)

It's autumn. Time to bust out the witchy bad boys again. I did think about getting a pair of ghillie Riverdance lace up ones now that the summer sandal period is over but then I remembered I had these buckle ones which I got in the Office sale last year. Now if I remember correctly around about this time last year, I also said I wasn't getting any ghillie lace up shoes because I had these. At least I'm consistent.

Last year, they were a bit rare. I remember some Zara ones, some Hobbs ones and my Office ones. This year they appear to be back which is good for those who like witchypoo shoes with different prices so something to suit everyone.

Office have done another version this time in mock crock and with a zip at the back to make them easier to put on and take off. To be honest, I don't really struggle with mine - I only have to do do up one buckle on each shoe and that is infinitely quicker than lacing up a ghillie number.

Zara have their version too. None leather but a good price for a fashion fix.

Mango had a more streamlined pair late last year which is still available on their outlet. This is a suedette and I believe the lovely Annmarie at Fashionmumof40 has a pair of these. These are a little more refined than the three strap variety which are a little more "hardcore".

And now Topshop are onboard too with their leather version which look almost identical to mine.

So do you fancy getting taking the mick out of for wearing withchy poo shoes or have you gone with the Riverdance ones? Or both even!

  1. You look cute in those! It's a bit of a different look...

I've been on the lookout for a pair for quite a bit now: I tried the mango ones on because they came in navy but they looked terrible on me (like a little girl's shoes), so back they went.

Wish I could find some in navy, grey or snake, but then again flats don't last very long here on the mountain.

I do love pointed shoes, though, for the petite gal they're a godsend!

    1. I actually managed to try the Mango ones when they were in store some time back and they were really nice on but I didn't need them as I had the Office ones. I was worried about the Office ones not fitting properly as I have wide feet so I was pleasantly surprised to find that they didn't look bad on. The Mother in Law did refer to them as "Winklepickers" thought and to be careful not to ruin my feet in them.

  2. Lovely shoes Sue. You can't beat a good witchypoo shoe can you - especially at this time of year?! I love the Zara ones - but they didn't love me. They were just too wide but on someone's else's feet they would look fab. x

    1. Really? I thought you would need nice slim feet for the Zara ones rather than the reverse. Or do you have really skinny feet?

  3. I totally love this outfit Sue! I spotted the Topshop version of the Witchy shoes last night and I didn't realise my Mango ones are still available on their outlet site. I still get the river dance jokes of my Hubby ..... boo, when I wear my Ghillies, I just laugh them off now. BTW, Thank you for the shout out. :)

    1. You're welcome Annmarie. If you listen to all the jibes that the menfolk throw in our direction, we would never wear anything that we liked! Strangely enough, I don't think the hubs has ever made a comment about these shoes. Having said that, I don't think he's ever noticed what's on my feet.

  4. Hmmm. I do love these, but being a pear shape I find that pointy and flat is not the most flattering style for me. (I always feel a bit like those clowns whose trouser waistband has a hula hoop running through it, and really long shoes!) I may have to go and do a recce though, as I do remember last year saying I would never buy into the ghillie flat thing, but lo and behold I went for the Figs and am now considering a closed toe pair. Fickle? Me? :-D xx

    1. Do you know, I have that same thought about myself when wearing pointy footwear. I wish there was a slightly more rounded/almond toe version of these too.

  5. They look great on you but I don't really suit pointy shoes and I'm not sure why bi prefer these to the lace up ones actually. Lovely. Lynne xx

    1. I think you tend to fall in one camp or the other. I love the ghillie shoes but I'm a bit lazy and I could hardly be bothered with the strappy Mango sandals I had because of this. They were a pair of those shoes which once I'd put them on my feet, they weren't coming off again for the rest of the day - it was too much trouble. They look nice though :)

  6. I'm firmly in the Riverdance camp....well for now anyway ;0) The Topshop Kitsch ones look pretty fab!! I've seen something similar from Aldo that have a whiff of the Rockstuds that I've been quietly contemplating....that said I've not worn the Topshop Finest ones enough to justify going any further down this type of shoe route!
May I say how much I love you in this outfit.....I may have to *borrow* this look from you! xx

    1. You can borrow all you like - tis a compliment indeed. And I know what you mean - the girly type shoes seem to have taken a bit of a backseat for me this last year in favour of the trainers and espadrilles which are the easiest things to wear. I do like a pair of pretty shoes though - I may have ordered a pair with some big flowers on because I am easily led by bonkers things.

    1. I've seen them in Zara but I haven't tried on as I thought my feet would be too wide for them and besides, I do already have a pair which need to be worn! Let me know how you get on.

  8. They would look witchy on my pasty white feet! Your' feet are a good colour. I don't think this style does me any favours and I am incredibly nesh so need boots and, probably, socks. I love your' styling as always. xx

    1. I've not thought about pasty feet before but these things don't occur to you if you don't have pasty feet - I'm not rubbing it in - it's just one of those things. But you have a point, the days are limited for when I can wear these comfortably, it won't be long before all manner of boots will be coming out. And socks. But only if I have to. I don't love socks very much - something to do with Ugg wearing over the years.

  9. Love the witchy poo shoes.... I always struggle with footwear before the boots kick in and these could be the perfect solution Sue!!
