…. it was sunny in the morning so I got the legs out, donned a skirt and jinxed the weather.

Marant Etoile blouse (similar here), H&M skirt (similar here & here, Carvela Krimble sandals (similar here)

In the afternoon, it rained and poured and thundered and lightninged!    :o(

Today, it was sunny in the morning and I decided to wear pants and guess what?

It was beautiful and sunny all day!

Of course!    :o)

Last Note :

  • The Pieces slides mentioned in the previous post are good. They're leather, they're comfy, they stayed on my feet all day whilst I was at a 5 hour school cricket tournament and gave me no aggro whatsoever. Cool.

    1. Hi Sue. Yes I had high hopes for Monday when it started off beautiful in the morning and as soon as I put a foot out of the door in the afternoon - the skies opened and poured. I should stick with pants really.

    1. I had to google it and it's amazing how things translate in different languages isn't it? To me, it means nothing and in Malay - not nice. And yes, the sandals are good - really comfy. I can't help thinking I'm sure my dad used to have something like this though :)

  4. I would love to have that IM shirt in my life and I think the sliders are fantastic. I have not heard of Pieces, have I just Fashion Failed massively? H xx

    1. No fashion fail. I don't think they're a fashion buggy but sit alongside Vera Moda, Vila and similar - commonly found on ASOS and not too expensive. I was actually looking for some silver slides and their silver version of the Tahi sandals popped up so obviously I had to investigate further and yay! Result - I found the black ones!

    1. Thank you Lynne. Wearing a skirt is always an effort with me but I was trying to wear some of the pieces which don't get out much and I did get a compliment from a friend who saw me in the playground who asked me if I was going anywhere nice dressed up. And my khakis and shirt was a safe bet option for hanging around around on a cricket pitch for 5 hours. I didn't think it was a day for swanning in skirts.

    1. I was debating over a pair of dark Birks or these and I thought it would be good to have something different as I already had the white Birks. How you getting on with yours? You look like you're fully embracing them!

  8. Sodding weather. I'd say get your outfit out in the morning and then before you put it on, swap it for something else. Regardless, lovely outfits Sue x

    1. So you all care more about the weather than if I'm sweltering in a pair of trousers in a heatwave - pah!

      You need these slides Joanna!

  10. Looking great Sue! I had to laugh because I bought a denim skirt from H&M couple of weeks ago and wore it a couple of days ago so I might have contributed to the jinx :-) Their current one has a short fly zip front and longer than yours (must not wear shorter) - really 70's which I love. The black slides are great too.

    1. I've just seen it and it looks good. It's the perfect wearable length for me and you isn't it? I have a point when I wear skirts where it all goes really bad but if it stops at the right point, the legs don't look too bad.

  11. Oh dear....do I need slides as well as Birkies?!! What a quandry?? They look ace with the Gap trews!! You are bad for me Sue as I am now also on the hunt for a denim skirt too!! xx

    1. I'm going to be good and say you don't need the slides as you have your black Birkies but who wants to be good? I thought I might struggle a little with them being black and after everything I said about not getting on with black footwear but because these don't come up high on the foot, they are more flattering than I first thought - even with a pair of shorts!

And I have two denim skirts, one shorter for holidays though I started wearing it at home last year and the one above which I love for the seventies styling. That was a great find for me in H&M. Hope you have some luck finding your skirt.

  13. The weather, The weather, it's just so boring, isn't it?.........If it wasn't for the weather here we would all know what to put on in the morning!! However Sue, you look fab in both outfits, slightly envious of the Marant blouse too! xx

    1. The weather can be boring but we have had some nice days this week which is always a bonus.

The Marant shirt has been coming out loads - I knew it would!

    1. They are surprisingly hard to get right. Both of the ones I have are not the traditional straight styling which has made them a little more appealing to me. I also have a third (doh - totally forgot about that one) and that is a more regular one - that is the one I wear the least.

  17. It's good to have legs out again isnt it? I am enjoying going barefoot around the house!
Nice to see you still wearing the carvella's, mine are still favourites, too.

    1. It has been nice actually. And it's funny - once the sun is out, it doesn't seem such a big deal to show them off again. I think you got yourself a nice denim skirt just recently in the perfect length?

And yes - the Carvelas are still going strong. I'm almost embarrassed to showcase them on here any more as I wear them such a lot.

  18. This seems to happen to me at the moment. As soon as I wear a summery outfit, the sun goes in. You have reminded me that I have a denim skirt packed away somewhere and I should maybe get it out as it's a gorgeous day today....so far!
