Raw Pink

Thursday, 13 October 2016

I fell head over in heels in love with these pink Gazelles. This was definitely a heart over head matter. I decided I was going to keep them. Then I decided I wasn't. Then I was. Then I wasn't x 100. I packed them up to go. And pulled them out again the next day. They're still with me and I have a mere day or two left before the ultimate decision.

Anyway, the fact that they're totally unpractical pink suede didn't stop me buying them. The fact that they are totally impractical pink suede and the weather has been pants is making me have second thoughts. The fact that they sold out just like that on ASOS which is where I got them, makes me want them. The fact that they are pink and the weather is so so pants at the moment is definitely not helping. Will these just be fair weather trainers? Will the daft dog step on my feet. Can I live with that? Probably. Because I love their pinkness. Their raw pinkness.

I have to say, these are comfier than the black pair I bought last year and returned. The toe shape is a little rounder too. They go with more than I thought in the wardrobe and I can tell I'm doing a sterling job convincing myself to keep these. If I do, you will see me in these soon.

When it stops raining.

  1. I had an even paler pink pair of Sambas when I was at uni. Bloody lived in them I did! I'd love another pair but holy moly these are pricey compared to 2002!

    1. They are aren't they? And they're pricier than the regular ones as well which makes it hurt a little more.

  3. I had similar feelings for a pair of j crew gold booties. This is our second anniversary. Still wear them all the time. They also have stopped me from buying a bunch of other boots, because they all pale in comparison. So yeah, they were expensive but so is buying 5 pair of 30 euro onesI! If you love them you'll wear them. If not, lesson learned and move on. But no regrets!

    1. Sometimes you do get shoes purely because you love them and not how much you will wear them. These should be fine on a good day and I just like that they are so different from anything I already have. And I did the same maths when I was gunning for my Hasbeens!

  4. The weather here has been so glorious the past few weeks that I'm in danger of making a few rash purchases myself, but I have to keep reminding myself that it's going to be wall-to-wall drizzle soon! But, we all need at least one totally impractical item in our wardrobes, don't we? And you do have some lovely bits of pale pink knitwear I think, don't you? And thinking ahead to Spring, I bet you'd get loads of wear out of them *not helping* :p

    1. It's weather of two halves here. Sometimes as wet as it comes in the morning and they brilliant sunshine by lunchtime. Does make dressing somewhat difficult and I'd be gutted if I had these ruined by rain. Shoes where you always need to look at the weather first - what next???

    1. Good idea Natalie. I do love them. Some things you know automatically will go back but I really have dithered with these so there must be something about them.
