A : That's going to be MASSIVE on you!
Me : Nooo! it will be fine.
A : I tell you, it's going to be massive.
Me : Trust me, I think it will be alright.
Thirty seconds later.
Me : What do you think?
A : But it looked huge on the hanger! How come it doesn't look huge on you on! I like it! It's good! Buy it!
To be honest. It did look huge on the hanger so A had a point. I saw it earlier in the week and picked up the size small, tried it on and decided the pockets weren't particularly good on that one so I put it back. This time round, there was no size small and only one size medium. The pockets were straight and even, I tried it and it was good. Bought it.
It wasn't all luck you know. I knew that cardigan rang a bell with me - I'd spotted something similar before :
That's Mija Flatau in her Acne Raya cardigan.
I'm not daft. A cardi with shades of the Acne Raya cardigan about it at a fraction of the price. Done deal. And it's perfect for the school run with blue jeans ....
Primark Cardigan (instore), J Crew Linen Tee (old but similar here), New Look Jeans (old), Converse
or with black. Especially with a bit of Olsen big scarf inspiration.
Primark Cardigan, H&M Mens Scarf (old but similar here), H&M Distressed Jeans similar here, Next Skate Pumps (old but similar here)
My cardi is from Primark and cost me the princely sum of £14. And I'm pretty happy with it. Its quite warm and could double up as a light coat quite easily. I bought myself a chunky grey cardi from there last year and I'm still wearing it this year - it seems to have gone the distance and not ended up as cat bedding which I said it might. So I have high hopes for this.
So two scores from Primark this season ... a camel coat and a camel cardigan. I wonder what's next?

I spotted these which also look good :
I thought a camel shade would make a nice change from grey. Go me (mime fist bump)!
Ha I was just about to ask if they do it in grey! Perhaps I should brave camel, it looks fab with the leopard spot shoes!
ReplyDeleteI don't think they do actually. But I'm not entirely sure. I do know they do in a green, navy and black though. But give camel a go - I think it works really well in this shade for this style of cardi. Be aware, they may look a bit crumpled up and squished together (it is Primark after all) but with a little TLC, they will look ten times better.
DeleteOoooh green is tempting. Definitely need a trip to the big City Primark now the kids are back at school!
DeleteI love it Sue, you look blimmin' stunning in that last photo! Now I really do have to go and investigate my local Primark, don't I?? xx
ReplyDeleteI am having the world of fun in Primark at the moment. I won't tell you what else I picked up there since as I am still making decisions on things. But it's certainly making me happy.
DeleteWow, that's Primark? It's lovely... must pop in this week.
ReplyDeleteIt is - have a nosey. Their winter jumper range has just come in and there's a lot of little gems in there.
DeleteWow that's lovely!! Didn't spot it in Primark on Friday so may need to make another visit tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't look like Primark admittedly and is remarkably similar to the Warehouse pricier one I featured above. Take another look if you get the chance.
DeleteOh my goodness Sue....how have I missed brilliant Acne homage! I love it....and how you have styled it! Primark do have some real gems don't they! I get dragged in there all the time as Gracie loves it and spends all her pocket money in there....well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! ;0) xx
ReplyDeleteMichelle, I was delighted when I got it home. I think if I'd seen the cardigan before I'd seen the camel coat, I might have just made do with the cardi! And I wish I had such a good excuse! Mine is usually, the boys need new socks!
DeleteI love it. I need that in my life. I have had to send the Nina back and I have ordered the size down (it was massive.) I may try and pick this one up though because the price is supremely tempting compared to the Hush cardi. You really suit the colour with the black. H xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Helen. And that was unlucky with the Hush cardigan - I know you quite like their range and did well with their Michelle coat last year didn't you? I'm glad that you mentioned that it came up huge - that might help some of the readers who had been contemplating buying it.
DeleteAnd you're colour
Love it on you and how you have styled it, simplicity at its best. I ordered the Nina in Medium and like Helen I have had to to size down, still awaiting the smaller size. You find great things in Primark, I need to look properly instead of scooting through. x
ReplyDeleteYou're trying again then with the Nina cardigan - it must be nice. And I don't set out to look for things in Primark, I tend to scan the store and see what stands out to me. Usually it's not a lot but sometimes just sometimes, you get lucky. I have to say, I've found some cute pieces this season.
DeleteThat's an amazing find/look alikey! I do have a hole in my wardrobe for a camel knit.....So definitely off to Primark very soon!! Xx
ReplyDeleteAre you going to have a look at the teddy coat as well which was mentioned in Glamour magazine. It's not bad for the price but it seems to be a little too slouchy and needs a bit more structure to it. But it's a lovely colour and much nicer than some of the coats they had last year which looked like the dog had slept on them #harshbutfair
DeleteBrilliant find & it looks like a proper £££ cardigan when you style it....just fabulous & effortless. Love it with the black & leopard x
ReplyDeleteI think the cheetah pumps were a happy coincidence. I've just unearthed them now the weather has cooled off. But thank you Avril - I will take your lovely compliment!
DeleteLove it & it looks very expensive! I've just bought a couple of wraps & coatigans from Primark, they've got some great pieces atm but I really want to get this too as I don't have any camel pieces! X
ReplyDeleteLove it on you, Sue. Bargain too! Not a colour I usually see you in but it looks fab. Lynne xx
