Lace Up

Saturday, 22 August 2015

No. I haven't gone out and splashed out on a pair of Isabel Marant Leo lace up pumps. I'd love to but finances and the fact that they've sold out dictate otherwise. But isn't that a pretty picture up there?

Anyway, if you have small feet, you could get a pair of these from the children's section in Zara. A little simpler in styling but with a definite nod to the original design :

Or if you don't fit in to them, buy them for your mini-me. If you have one. They will look so cute.

  1. Boo, I took my mini-me into Zara on Wednesday, but we didn't see these :-( She ended up with a pair of navy patent Doc Marten-a-likes! When she dressed herself yesterday in denim shorts, a checked flannel shirt, long stripy socks and said boots I did a little secret air punch :-D

    2. I would be doing an air punch too. I always said that if George had turned out to be a girl, she would be dressed in all of Ben's old clothes but maybe with a denim skirt and stripy tights. Some of his clothes were pretty cool and were from No Added Sugar and not so cheap so I meant to get my money's worth out of them!

  2. Always keep an eye on that Zara kids' section! Did you see those cute fur clog boots they have too (swedish hasbeens lookalikes)? Also Boden: I bought the nicest pair of girls' silver loafers last year....

I can't wait to see what my daughter picks out for herself as she gets older, too. So far she's into anything with cats: we cat shirts, a cat dress, cat jammies and a hello kitty skirt. It's actually very helpful to get her dressed in the mornings (she's two btw)!

    1. I do. I quite often try on the boys clothes too as their jackets and coats are a bit of a steal. The girls clothes can be a bit on the small side but the shoes always fit and some of the designe are pretty cool and cheaper than the adult versions.

I have a couple of items with cats on which your daughter would love. Yes really. I have clothes with cats on.

    1. I think people are cottoning on to these as the size 5s were unavailable and you had to put yourself on the email list. Might be worth it though because for that price and they are leather too, they could prove to be a good little style steal!

  4. Oh my, I prefer these over the adult version, the rounded toe much more Marant ...... I am a size 4 .... Sue you have tempted me very much. x

    1. I was thinking that they might be a little more wearable than some of the pointy versions which although are very pretty, I always feel a touch overdressed in them. In the rounded toe versions though, I feel that they are just a follow on from a classic ballet pump which I will be dragging out come September. Go on, I know how much you like a bit a of Marant'alike.

  5. Good spot Sue! Unfortunately I only have mini boys who wouldn't thank me for making them wear these.. and I'm a size 6.5/7 .. however I did order a similar pair from Aliexpress would you believe a few months back. Very pleased with them for £34 😊 keep your posts coming,

    Sue xx

  6. Those Marant ones are gorgeous! My mini-me's aren't mini anymore and I have massive feet so I don't ever go into Zara children's dept, but those shoes are a great find if you're lucky enough to have small feet. Ever seen the film Kinky Boots? Thats about the size of my feet 😕

    1. I have seen the film Kinky Boots - it's brilliant! I would say I spent a long time wishing that my feet were a size 6 ... boys/mens shoes start at that size and I could have had some lovely brogues and stuff over the years. We have opposing problems!

  7. They had those in the adult Zara too but not online, so far, for £40 or £45 but with a pointy toe. I was in store on Friday but they only had size 41 and 37 left- I'm a Zara 40. Joanne Michael on Avenue 57 bought a pair and they're gorgeous. I'm not lucky enough to be one of those petite women who fit into kids clothes and shoes

    1. I've seen the pics of the adult version but not in real life. Have you had any luck tracking them down since? I love Zara kids shoes - for once, I'm glad I have child size feet.

  8. What a fab homage from Zara Sue! Sadly they won't go anywhere my size feet but I could live vicariously through Gracie as far as these re concerned! As luck would have it I do need to return some stuff to Zara (not the coat, I hasten to add!) so I am due a trip this week! ;0)

  9. Great find, SusieSoSo. They look so cute in small sizes too. Unfortunately the lace up bits make my legs look even dumpier, so I can't go there. I bet they'll look fabulous on you though.

    1. Oh I have totally dumpy legs and I can only wear things like this with jeans on. I wouldn't dream of subjecting anyone to me in those and a skirt! I have a similar problem with my Mango lace up sandals - I wouldn't wear them laced up the leg definitely or with shorts or skirts - they kill my legs!

  10. Love the Isabelle Marant picture - I wish I could look that cool. I can't do that minimal look at all and it really bugs me lol!

Great Zara - the small size has made me think of Marlene! Keri xxx
