Dressing Down

Thursday, 16 October 2014

Remember my patchwork jeans from the other day? When I finished playing dress up in front of the camera, I switched it all down to this.

Primark cardigan, Jigsaw silk shirt, Tatty bag, Jigsaw pompom keyring, Zara jeans jazzed up, Adidas Stan Smiths

Same basics but now school run ready! Because this is how I really roll.

Last Note :

  • Silk shirts are not just for best - just wear them! They are fab under a cardigan or jumper for keeping you warm - somehow the warmth from a woolly transfers better through silk to your skin! Honest!
  • Stan Smiths. Go ... with ... every ... thing.

    1. I've hardly taken them off - my other shoes and boots are starting to feel a little neglected!

  3. Inspired Sue!! I have a vintage Jaeger navy silk blouse and now I know exactly how I can dress it down!! Style stolen as I can cobble this look together with my Topshop grey cardy and (fingers crossed) H&M patchwork jeans.....and yes, I couldn't agree more that the Stan's go with everything!! xx

    1. Fingers crossed for you with the H&M jeans - I've given up and am sticking with the ones I've cobbled together. And yes, get the shirt out and get wearing. Don't fret too much and when you're cooking - wear an apron. Words from the wise there!

    1. Thank you. But it's true, I noticed it the other year when I dragged out another of my silk shirts and together with a cashmere cardi - it felt really lovely ... and warm. I don't mean to sound all luxe there but I do have one grey Uniqlo cashmere cardi which I wear a lot and I'm not too precious about which means it actually gets worn!

    1. It's actually a very good oversized cardi for us small people - it was one of the nicer ones they had there and there was another check one I liked as well but thought the grey was more me and more useful. I actually think I should get a back up as I really like wearing this one - it's very snuggly.

    1. I was passing through - looking for joggers for my boys and they were close to the entrance so I couldn't resist. It's acrylic but I can live with that as long as I've set my expectations not too high. And I can vouch that it is warm though.

    1. I looked at a few but some were too thin and some were too long but this one managed to succeed where others had failed. I think it's going to be a wardrobe staple this winter!

    1. Yay! I love it as well - I have to stop myself wearing it too much incase it goes major pill baby on me - I'm not sure if it will but we shall see. I should just buy myself a backup as best shouldn't I?
