Sales Dregs

Friday, 15 August 2014

I knew I was going to kick myself if I didn't order this little jacket just to check it out. It's technically in the dregs of the Zara sale but I thought it had potential.

And I was right!

I took a chance and ordered the size small though I'm usually a medium in Zara sizes. I kind of figured that it wasn't too fitted and being short in stature, I needed to keep the proportions small on top and neat on the shoulders or else I start looking a bit Spongebob Squarepants.

F21 t-shirt, Clarks shoes, New Look Jeans, APC bag

And the fabric is lovely. 55% linen. 45% cotton, with a nice texture and weave. Just what you need in a lightish jacket to see you through the last few weeks of summer.

The other perfect thing - it was only £19.99 and for that price, I get a jacket which fits, is comfortable and needs no alterations and it's not every day that happens!

Yes, I know the geraniums need tending to.

Have you had any good sales bargains?

    1. Thank you! I don't actually have many jackets and never know what to grab when I'm leaving the house when the temperature is like it is currently but still too warm for a proper coat.

  2. How funny, I'm in Dublin and 'had to pop into Zara' as you do & also grabbed a light little jacket in grey for just under £20. Sometime I prefer the dregs of the sales at the end to the start! Looks great on you and I'm also loving those shoes x

    1. Ooh - which one? I'm intrigued now? I never do the sales at the beginning but I have a little nosey at the end when most of it is cleared out and I can start to see the wood for the trees again. And the shoes - I thought I'd drag them out after all T-bars are in!

  3. I love the oversize pockets. Kind of adds a cleaner look. If that doesn't sound too crackers. Very stylish.

    1. Not at all crackers. It just makes it a little more modern as well doesn't it?

    1. I saw that picture and giggled a bit. It's a bit of a Kat pose isn't it? I was actually just starting to walk away from the camera when it clicked. An accidental pose.

    1. I find the online Zara sales fascinating to see what get's left at the end. Last year I missed out on a leopard trench which I am still hankering after so this year, I thought I'll go for this one and then I won't regret it next year!

  6. I've just done a dregs of the Zars sale order too and I hovered over this one but thought it was much more lightweight in reality. It's way nicer than it looks online. Looks great on you!
Will see how I get on with what I ordered first as I actually bought 3 other jackets....go figure! Can't resist a bargain me! Ax

    1. It's thicker than it looks and is a nice weight actually - not too flimsy. Now your order - I'm intrigued to see what you've ordered.

  7. This jacket looks very Celine esque and really suits you, plus you can wear with denim and avoid the denim on denim minefield !

    1. Denim on denim I can do but just not denim jacket on denim - that is way too heavy for me. And Celine'esque? You've made my day :o)

  9. haha sale dregs... so lucky you found something! i love that natural look of the fabric and it does fit you so well!

i bought another pair of zara white pants that were on my blog recently. it went down to $19 and it's not every day i find something that is in a cut i like that much. might dye it black, or just keep it as a backup.. you never know what happens with white pants!

    1. Bargain! If you find something on sale which you genuinely love - nothing wrong with a backup. I'm so rubbish with white pants - I just worry all the time with them. My sister however has a real thing for them and every time I go shopping with her (not often these days unfortunately), she always seemed to pick up another pair. She's lucky too - she's one of those persons who was built for pants and jeans and every pair looks good on her. I however have a butt. And a curvy one at that. Or so she likes to tell me.

    1. There's a definite nip in the air coming through isn't there. I'm trying to eke out these last few weeks of summer before the sandals go back in to storage. Hope all our slides are still in again next year.

  11. No sales bargains yet for me. I'm saving for a trip to Brazil. So yay for the trip and boo for not mush shopping.
I like that jacket, it's really cute. AND...it's a good material and that's as rare as the gold dust in Zara these days.

    1. Brazil - you go girl. I can just see you in a carnival costume as well - seriously!

And yes, the fabric is much nicer than the usual offerings. So many times I've picked something up and then put it back, shaking my head in despair.
