Pinterest Fun

I was going through some looks on Pinterest and came across this one. I pinned it a little while back. Not the most inspired - a stripey top and a pair of jeans but this one is quite interesting to me because I actually have all the components to put this together.

  • Breton with mid blue stripes. Yup.
  • Black belt. Yup.
  • Boyfriend jeans. Yup.
  • Red pointy shoes. Yup.
  • Blonde hair. Err no.
  • Long legs. Err no.

Never mind the last two, let's plough on.

  • Tripod. Yup.
  • Camera. Yup.
  • Timer set. Yikes.
  • Sprint, pose and dodgy fake smile. Phew!

Johnnie B top, Zara jeans, M&S belt, Jigsaw shoes, Own Garden Fence

Well that killed 20 mins this afternoon :o)

-------------------------------

Last Note :

  • The stripey top is my old Johnnie B Breton dress which I had chopped down in to a top because I couldn't leave well alone. Last seen here in it's full length glory!

    1. Only 1 point for the fence? Needs a coat of Ronseal doesn't it? Might have garnered 2 points then.

    1. Always fun to see what something looks like on a regular Joe isn't it? I have to say the blonde lady does carry it off very well though.

  9. Wow! I expected to see some vaguely similar outfit ... I didn't expect to see exactly the same. (Don't know why really, given that it's you!) The girls above are right you know - you do look better. Go you!

    1. Helen - if you're going to do something like this - you have to do it properly. No just joking - I just happened to have the top and when I saw the pic, I had a lightbulb moment. And the shoes too! The shoes! I love those red shoes!

  10. Excellent styling, really love this look on you! I tried wearing heels with my bf jeans but felt a bit contrived so sticking to the lower heels/slippers/brogues.

    1. I'd love to take the credit for the styling but I think that belongs to the lovely blonde. I'd love to wear the red shoes on the school run but I know for a fact they would be trashed - my feet get stamped on every day by small people! I'll probably change the red shoes for some red Swedish Hasbeens to keep the injection of colour going. I kind of like it.

  11. Love how you've re-created this Sue....funnily enough I'm wearing a slightly different take on this today too! Great minds & al that.

  12. Hi Susie, looks amazing! I have developed a bit of an obsession with your Zara boyfriend jeans - unfortunately the link you provided a while back to the same pair no longer works, do you know what their current closest equivalent are? I particularly love the colour of yours, nothing looks close online. :/

    1. Hi! I'm on a mission to find another pair like this so I will try to keep you posted. I really should have bought a backup pair as they are so easy to put on that I would probably wear them all the time if I could except I have to vary it a bit to eek out their life span. I've seen a few pairs in Zara which have a similar finish but the cut and the fit isn't quite there but if and when I find an alternative - I will do a post on them.

    2. Hi! - thanks so much - will await your findings! I've seen a cropped pair on Zara website which look fairly similar.:http://www.zara.com/uk/en/woman/jeans/boyfriend/ripped-jeans-c401002p1772542.html ....but I don't want the cropped version. (what do they say about beggars not being choosers?!)

    3. How tall are you by the way, if you don't mind me asking? I think it's just useful to know.

    4. 5' 10" - which adds an extra dimension when looking for jeans 'full length' but with a turn up. :)

  13. This is my new favourite game - what can I find on Pinterest that I can recreate! Currently working on a white jeans one (was planned for today but there is no sun out!)

LOVE the simplicity of this - going to copy you!

    1. You can copy all you like Fiona. I love Pinterest but I rarely try to replicate an outfit - I just take the odd thing from it where I can. Like wanting dratted pink shoes!

And white jeans - they're a toughie for me. I don't get on with them and yet I really like them but not on me.

  14. Oh Sue you pull it off so well too - sometimes the most simple looks are the most striking; the red heels really nail it for me. LOVE this so much. You should keep playing this game ;)

    1. It's definitely in the red shoes and you know how I love shoes (your shoes in particular).

And I don't know how you manage to make it look so good when you take your own pics with the remote and everything. I know practice makes perfect but you're seriously good at it.

  16. My guilty pleasure is to spend an hour of an evening (a few sneaky peeks in the daytime too) perusing Pinterest trying to think of items that I have to re-create different looks! Your ensemble is so perfect Sue! I love the red shoes! You've inspired me! xx

    1. I do that as well ... instead of blogging, I go and have a play and perusal on Pinterest instead. You're a bit of a dab hand at replicating looks - I need to take some more cues from you.

    1. Thank you Lynne. When I first got on Pinterest, I didn't get it at all. Then something must have twigged and I went a bit mad on it but just recently, I've laid off it again. Probably because I don't know what I want to be inspired by - I'm a bit uninspired at the moment. Ho hum.

  19. I like yours better too! The pinterest lady either needs to put some weight on or buy smaller jeans! I know they're meant to have a relaxed fit but they're massive. The fit of your jeans is much better!

    1. You need to get on the Next website Anne. Donna from Iwontwearsludgebrown has been extolling the virtues of hers - you should take a look at her post - they seem to have every kind of finish and fit for everyone on there. You'll find something and make it look chic like you always do.

    1. The red heels really set it off but not hugely practical on the school run. I have other red shoes I can substitute so no problem though. And I found Pinterest hugely addictive at one point and then I went off the boil a bit and not found my way back yet. Fact is, you can spend a lot of time on social media - it's scary!
