Pale and Interesting in a White Zara Patterned Tee and a Little Bit of Jewellery.

Monday, 27 May 2013

Bet you didn't spot this on the Zara website. Have a look online - not very eye catching is it? Blink and you'll miss it. I did. But luckily for me I was in the shop and I didn't miss it even though it was a little tucked out of the way. I'm beady eyed Sue, I am! And a sucker for a pretty print on a tee. And when you get a pretty tee like this, it does all the work for you.

It even makes a boring grey cardigan look okay and less granddad.

Uniqlo Cashmere Cardigan (old) & New Look Jeans (old)

Add a little pair of girly cream shoes ......

And the simplest of bracelets and you're good to go.

Err ... did I mention that you can get the bracelet in my little tictail shop? I finally got my act together and created a little shop. I've popped in a little selection of goodies but will be adding other pieces over the coming days and weeks. Keep popping in to see if there is anything new. And every now and then, I might even model a piece for you  ......... :o)

And any queries you might have about anything - just drop me an email!

And I know how you love a good white top. This one is nice and easy to wear. Have you worn your new shirt yet?

  3. Hi Sue, First time I've commented on your blog, but have read it for a while now and thoroughly enjoy! I'm also a mother (myself of one boy) so can identify with your occasional child orientated blogs too!
Just wanted to ask about the gorgeous white zara top you're wearing so well, would you say the sizing is true? B4 I purchase (you should be on commission!) wanted to see if you had any sizing feedback.
Many thanx, bye4 now - Lin xx

    1. Hi Lin! I actually bought the Zara tee in a size small rather the usual medium though that fitted as well. Because the design is loose and a little boxy, I took both sizes in and just felt the small wasn't as big across the shoulders and therefore a little more slimming as the body wasn't tight. It's one of those tops where you can generally size down but if you have a bigger chest than me (not hard), that rule might not apply. And if you're seriously thinking of buying, the pattern is actually printed on (a kind of latex paint I think) and not embroidered. Just incase that's a bit of a shock. But it's still a lovely top.

    2. Thanku for the feedback Sue, really helpful about the sizing but also an added bonus to be told about the printed not embroidered pattern, it photos really well so am guessing it looks just as lovely in real life.
Will peruse the website again and hope to strike lucky, however, reading down your comments it does look like it may now be sold out!! The power of Susie So So! If I do manage to buy, all we need now is the sun!

  5. The top is cute... but your cardi! Exactly what I'm looking for. Why are simple things like this so hard to find?

    1. I think Uniqlo did one of their classic £20 off their cashmere range (which they do every year) and I thought a grey cardi would be an excellent investment and I have to say it has served me really well. It doesn't seem to have done any crazy pilling or anything which usually drives me bonkers - unlike the cream cashmere jumper I've also got from them which I have to de-pill after every wear (hate that jumper an insane amount). Wait till September - they'll have them out again.

  6. That t-shirt is amazing. I'm going to have to run out and look for it myself. Seriously, what a good find! Congrats on your tictail shop as well! How exciting!

    1. Thanks Defne. It's pretty but not saccharine sweet pretty. And for those really tall people - could even be worn with a maxi skirt for a more dramatic look rather than regular jeans.

And thanks about the shop. I got there eventually.

    2. I actually had to run out and try it on for myself today. It's so beautiful in person too, but the cut, on me... nowhere near as nice as it looks on you! On me it was just too wide (rather, made me look too wide), and the small was too short and the medium looked sloppy. Bummer. On you it is divine.

    3. Oh no - I'm actually really sorry to hear you say that it didn't fit you but I'm super pleased that you liked it enough to have to go out and try it on. I tried on the medium first and when I asked the changing room girl if she could get me a small, she actually said that it was really lovely - much nicer than she thought it would be from seeing it on a hanger. That's kind of good encouragement isn't it? And for once, being a shorty worked in my favour.

  7. It's quite cleverly done but it's not actually embroidery as I was saying to Lin above. The print is actually embossed on but it gives the illusion of embroidery. Whatever it is, I thought it was pretty enough to come home with me.

  8. Oh I want this so badly but I can't find it! Can you add a link? (If it IS available!) :)

    1. The link is under the first picture but I just clicked it and it seems to have sold out now. It's only been out a week or so I think - that was quick going! But that doesn't help you one bit. They might have some still in store though - I find that is quite often the case even when something has sold out online, they do carry it still in the store for a while longer. Hope you manage to find one.

    1. I am like a little robot scanner. I sometimes stand in the door of a shop and scan the contents and walk out. As easy as that. It always amused the Grumps when he used to accompany me shopping (a very very long time ago).

And yes - I like that bracelet as well. It's hardly left my wrist since I made one for myself.

    1. I've not had that much luck myself but somehow this one just seemed to hit the spot and believe me I have tried with Zara. It's not so much the sizes - probably more to do with lengths for me - I am a bit of a shorty.

  20. I had a look at that, as it reminded me a little of Karen Walker but came to the conclusion that a, I didn't need it and b, it wasn't quite the type of top I'm looking for at the moment. That said, it looks fantastic on you, and really dresses up those jeans. OH and clearly we must have an eye for the same pieces@!

  26. i bought this top in the zara sale last week, can i ask, have you washed yours yet?, has it washed ok? i am a bit worried as to how the pattern will withstand a wash!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I asked someone else to see if they had washed their top yet but they hadn't and I haven't either. I've only worn mine once for a couple of hours so didn't feel it needed a wash just yet. But it's viscose and wool and it does recommend hand wash. If you love it a lot, maybe just give it a handwash just this once. I don't normally but I'd hate to ruin this as it is particularly pretty.
