Uniqlo Silk Spot Shirt (old)


I posted the above pic on IG last year and it came up as one of my most popular pics in my #2015bestnine and there was a lot of love for the blouse and a few queries around it. Alas, my shirt is from a few years back and is no longer available but I have spotted this brilliant dupe from M&S for anyone who's interested :


M&S Spotted Utiity Shirt


I had 5 minutes spare so I took it in to the changing rooms to see what it was like on. Things to bear in mind - mine is silk, the M&S shirt is not. It is however made in a nice heavy weight viscose which doesn't seem to crumple too much. I took a size 10 in and I would say this is pretty true to size - just loose enough but still with some shape to it. And a bonus for those who have a problem with buttons popping open at inconvenient moments - this is one of M&S's no peep shirts so has some additional "hidden" buttons to keep your assets in check.

Verdict - if I didn't have my silk one. I would be snapping this up. And if you need any convincing, let's have a look at Ms Alexa wearing her spotty shirts.

    I'm so lazy with shirts but I like the idea of a spotty one (once it warms up of course!)- it's not too in yer face is it so it won't be too busy with my specs! Both yourself and Alexa are wearing it well! x

      Oh I love shirts. I never realised how much till I looked through last year's pics. You however are super trim so you can wear those tiny tees which you look so good in. And this spotty shirt is a great way of breaking in to a print - it's quite subtle but has just enough about it without being too twee.

    Gosh...Alexa wears her spotty shirt so well doesn't she?! You've inspired me to get mine out again....I've got the Uniqlo one too and the silk will make a pretty extra layer as we need many at the moment don't we! Brrrr here today! xx

      It has been a bit nippy of late but not so bad today. But yes, can always look to Alexa to give us a little inspro. I like her different takes on wearing a similar item. You can tell she likes them as she even produced one for the AG collection.
