White Handbag

Thursday, 30 April 2015

You might not believe this but I've been wanting a white bag for a little while. Honest. And I've looked all over for something suitable and not come up with anything till now. Most that I saw were too big, not the right shape, style or price. And besides, there wasn't much to choose from. But then I came across this little number when I least expected it.

H&M Shirt (old), Zara Jeans (old), White Bag (new and no links)

Makes a refreshing change from the usual black numbers out there doesn't it? I know most of you won't be rushing out to get one but I am peculiarly pleased with my little find especially as it was £6 from Primark because a white bag is not something I want to spend big money on. And for your information, yes I did go through every single one of these bags to ensure I got the best (finished) one. And do you know what else? It bears a good resemblance to this doesn't it?

Anyway, do you want to know what started me off on a white bag hunt? This actually ....

I already have a red sweatshirt, distressed jeans and white trainers. I was just missing the bag ... till now.

Last Note :

I have to say, I'm extra pleased that I found a white bag ...without a a bow on it. That would be just a touch too kindergarten chic for me.

    1. Hi Sophie. Thanks for stopping past. The denim shirt is one of my absolute best buys - it's starting to become a bit of a default item and to think I had reservations about buying it originally as I thought I had enough blue shirts. And I am pleased with the little bag - it makes such a nice change.

    1. Well the bags are one of the few things I usually leave in Primark as the finish on them is usually a little off and the faux leather can be a little too faux. But I couldn't resist this one at £6 after I checked it through. It's one of their better offerings. I also think that if the other high street stores were putting this number out, it would be starting at £20 at least. So not a bad little bargain.

Haha, this made my day Sue, love it!

  3. Love it Sue! I also really like white bags but I wear a lot of dark jeans and it rubs of on the leather. However at £6, you can't say no to that! X

    1. I have to say, at this price for the little bag, I won't cry too much if I get a little denim dye on the back of it. But because it is a faux leather, I was thinking a little rub with a magic eraser might solve any dye problems. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it!

  5. The blue looks sooooo good with your white bag. I recently bought a white Michael Kors bag which I love - although I'm a bit OCD about keeping it away from any potential mess or dirt! X

    1. That is the problem with light coloured bags. I did get dye on one of my canvas backed bags and I'm not sure how to clean that up as it's not a bag I can stick in the wash. It's not bad but I know it's there. But yes, be careful but not so careful to stop you using it (says she who hoards and never uses her stuff).

  6. Wow Primark! Never... I saw it on Insta (yesterday) and was honestly wondering what designer it was! Should have known better, as splurging on a white bag isn't very "Sue". Great find :-D

    1. I just couldn't spend a lot on a white bag. The recipe for disaster is huge. But a little flutter like this is great as it's not badly made actually. I'd looked at a few and the proper leather ones looked quite tatty but this faux leather is harder wearing so I win win on this.

    1. Absolutely scratched that itch. It also made me smile which is always a good sign. That means it's more than just a practical functional buy - it's a thing which floats my boat!

  9. Ah, I was thinking of the PS bag yesterday when I saw your instagram of it. it's very neat and nifty, and I do know what you mean about not wanting to spend - I am this way with tees and jeans, and maybe some types of shoe. My past history of experimenting with expensive tees taught me a good lesson. The worst I ever purchased was by Isabel Marant. The best? Next. And I hate admitting to that, but it really is so random isn't it? It's all a fluke, I say! x

    1. Well a white bag is one of those things where you know disaster is likely to hit any time with it. I don't like to be too precious with the bags I use so I like to think that if they are cheapish, I won't cry so much if they get a few knocks and scrapes along the way. However ... the cheaper something is, the more likely I am to wear it as I have a silly tendency to save nice things for best and then they never earn their keep and they never get worn. So it sounds silly but some of my best buys are my cheap and cheerfuls. And tees are a bit of a minefield. You never know where your best one is going to come from! It can surprise you a lot :)
