Maje Guillaume Sweatshirt, H&M Jeans, Susie Ho Bracelet

So today's forecast is dark blue jeans with a hint of bright sweatshirt. Hmmm.

So it seems that my jeans are an excellent barometer of the weather about to happen. Yesterday I wore black jeans and it poured it down and it even threw in a smattering of hailstones for good measure. Today, I am wearing dark blue jeans which means the weather will hold out, probably no rain and a mixture of sun and cloud. Move over Carol - I'm after your job.

Oh yes, and the sweatshirt. This is a rather bright number for little old me but I can tell you now they did it in grey and I passed the grey over for "framboise". Told you I was a sucker for anything which you give a fancy colour name to. I never said but this was the second item I was holding out for in the Net a Porter sale earlier this year. I managed to get one in the sale but it was too big and the lettering wasn't centred (Miss Picky So So), so back that went and I eventually got mine online from Maje itself ... complete with fancy bag packaging and everything. It all makes the shopping experience that little bit sweeter doesn't it? This sweatshirt is a nice warm one, you know one of those with the fleecy fluffy insides which makes it just perfect for those chilly spring days. And yes it would seem that I am living in sweatshirts going by the last few outfit pics but still it makes a nice change from big woolly jumpers. By the way, you can also say it's officially spring because I have moved on to sweatshirts. I find them too cold to wear in the winter even with a heat tech underneath but they're just right for now.

So like I was saying, no rain, a bit of sun and a bit of cloud for today but I hear the the rain is back tomorrow. Black jeans tomorrow eh ;o?

And just incase you like the red sweatshirt, these are cute too ....

First up and first choice is this Rag & Bone one. Now on The Outnet. I love it because the red is quite deep and the navy contrasts make it a natural to pair with blue jeans. Just like my Maje one then :o) I'm taking my fashion cues here and will be pairing with lighter denim as the days warm up. I like the cute little bag too - I can see myself hunting down something similar now.

A little bit more purse friendly is this one from Pull & Bear. Pull & Bear do what they say in Yorkshire, "cracking" sweatshirts. I have my eye on a few but as I was looking for red ones, this one did get my attention as it's rather fun and cheeky. I sometimes think fashion gets all a little too serious. This is one of those hell raising scarlet reds - fabulous for those people who can take these brights.

For those with more grown up tastes, how about this leopard print one? Also on The Outnet - a brilliant place to pick up some of those past season designer sweatshirts at more palatable prices. This makes a nice change from the usual camel shades. This one is a little more kick ass. Okay, a lot kick ass!  :)

Red sweatshirts tempting you at all?

  1. That framboise color is fantastic! I call it "electric red" or "neon red" and it's seriously one of my favorite shades, and oh so rare...totally get why you liked it...wakes you up, huh?

Have you noticed how highstreet shops use the same old (super unflattering) colors most the time? It drives me crazy. Come on, who wants to wear crayola purple?

That's why I like J Crew, for it's use of interesting colors while remaining affordable (well, on sale and with a sale voucher on top of that)...

    1. Framboise is certainly a look at me colour isn't it? I was drawn to it because of how sharp it is - I didn't know if it would work on me but sometimes I think what the heck and just go with it any way. And I must have liked it to persevere and reorder till I got the right one. That's when you know you really like something. And I think I struggle with colour mainly because I know which shade of a colour I really like and it's not usually available. And believe it or not, according to Donna - purple is a shade which suits everyone I believe. But I think that would be dependant on the shade.

And sadly J Crew is not that well priced over here ... unless on sale and with a discount code and still it's not as good as in the U.S.

    1. The weather is warming up ... the colours are coming out Jane! I do wear colours - it's just over winter, I naturally succumb to the blues, blacks and greys. As we all do.

  3. Fabulous, fabulous choice, Sue! When you find a colour that really lights up your skin tone, I think you're almost obliged to buy as much as possible in that colour - please buy more of this red! There's a particular shade of blue that instantly makes me look as though I've just woken from a good 12 hours of uninterrupted sleep, but sod's law it's really hard to find...Big thumbs up for the fleecy lining too, I've got a Uniqlo sweatshirt with fleecy sleeves, and it's like wearing a cuddle! xx

    1. My problem is I don't see enough colourful items which really appeal to me. But when I do - I will go for it. If I am only halfhearted between a colour choice and a grey item, the grey will always win - it's easier on the eye or should I say, I'm comfortable in how it looks in my eyes. And it goes with so much in my wardrobe. Despite the red sweatshirt, I'm usually happy to blend in and fade. And yes, these sweatshirts which are fleecy on the inside - love them!

  4. WOW that is one bright sweatshirt. A tricky colour, to pull off, but it suits you like a dream. I love the leopard print and I can see you in the 'naughty girls' sweat, if only it came in Navy ;0) H xx

  5. That jumper is so good on you - I don't know why you wear such dark colours all the time because you and colour go together like British Summertime and rain (see how I brought in a weather reference for you!)

    1. It's because I don't see enough nice things in colours and we've been going through the winter months and somehow grey and black and blue works for me in those months. But come spring/summer, I freak out a little and introduce some different shades. I have a red dress waiting to come out!

  6. You look so great in that color! On my screen it looks a lovely, bright raspberry. I mostly stick to neutrals myself, but you make a brightly colored sweatshirt seem very tempting! Seems like I get tempted about all your purchases recently, haha :)

    1. It is a lovely bright framboise! And I am a neutrals girl but sometimes you just need to break out of the zone and I usually feel really good doing it but I don't like to do it all the time. I enjoyed wearing my fuchsia coat recently and I enjoyed wearing the red sweatshirt but I think we are back to the dark side today - it's damp and miserable outside. And I'm flattered that you get tempted by my purchases seeing as how you have to practise such restraint.

  7. You look so good in this colour....I think you could end up edging me out of my comfort zone into something brighter Sue! I reckon the Pull & Bear sweatshirt could be just the place to start for me, and there was I thinking April would end up being a low spends month! ;0) xx

    1. I think I just needed something to wake me up a bit. I love wearing plain things but every now and then I need something to give a bit of a proverbial kick to the wardrobe. I like the little touches in how they've added a grey tee under the Rag & Bone sweat to add interest and the bag is cute too - not that I want a bow on my bag but I like the addition of a little bag there. But yes - let's see what you can come up with in the bright stakes - you never know, you might like it!

    1. Framboise is good isn't it and I know red is one of your favourite accent colours. I don't find that I'm comfortable with all reds but it's trial and error and when you get it right, it can be bam! Anyway, I'm back in the dark clothes today - it's a bit les mis out there.

    1. I take it that is a surname? As I would assume the W is for something else beginning with W? You're going to tell me his name is Stan or something now aren't you?
