Have you worked it out? Why don't you compare to when I did this post. Lynne worked it out. Lynne was observant enough to note something was happening in my wardrobe and left a comment on one of my Instagram pics. She said "Is it officially spring then if you're wearing blue jeans?" She obviously took heed of one my previous statements where I declared grey/black jeans for the winter and blue jeans for the spring/summer. Look! Blue jeans galore!

Yup, so it seems that spring has officially sprung. The daffodils are out, the lambs are gambolling in the fields, the buds are budding and I am now in blue jeans. And believe it or not, it's only another week till the clocks go back and it's officially British Summer time.

Hurrah!

    1. David Bowie! Yup - I feel the urge to sing it too when I utter the words blue jeans. And I like your springlike - I see you were in all black today on Instagram!

  2. I did't work it out-was going to say sneakers but the last pic threw me off!

Now that you mention it that's exactly why i wear jeans almost every day-they're bright blue (which is also my favorite color). I don't own any other color (dark wash for when i'm feeling polished).

The spring version me is all about skirts with bare legs and boots/booties.

Part of it is wanting to change season, part is that i don't feel cold that often, i'm more bothered by being hot most of the time. I actually like it when i'm a bit chilly. But my best friend and I always dress like we're in different seasons (she's always bundled up) and the effect is pretty ridiculous!!

Oh, and love the way you patched those jeans up there. Could you add some of those those to the imaginary future Sue Etsy shop, please?

    1. Well one thing I know for certain is that I am a jean nut. I'm always looking for the next most flattering pair because although the last pair was fab ... it's only fab for so long. And I do wear less of them in the summer as I do try to give the old legs a bit of airing but the default is ... jeans. Albeit blue ones when the sun shines. And the patched jeans seem to be getting a bit of love from you and Helen above. I must have done a good job :o)

  3. This is the post I was hoping for. Thank you for writing it--I love both of your Zara jeans and the New Look ones.

Was the MiH pair the one you cut the hems off of?

    1. Oh good - I'm glad you're pleased. I was half thinking this might cover it but I was trying to decide how much detail to put in to the post about the jeans. There's probably a story behind each pair unknowing.

The MiH pair, I did alter but replaced the hem. The frayed hems are a pair of old Zara jeans which I'd consigned to a charity pile and dug them out and did a hack job on them. It gave them a bit of new life but they are not a good fit - I bought a size up thinking they would be comfy but they just end up giving me saggy butt. Not good.

    2. You know Sue, in probably about a year's time I'll end up buying either Vans slip-ons or Stan Smiths thanks to your posts. #lateblooming :D

  4. I was looking at footwear too, I must pay more attention in future! Love those New Look jeans on you, I wish I could get a pair to fit me like that, but I think I just have to face the fact that I'm the wrong body shape for them :-(

Glad we're getting more wiwtw posts, I love seeing your everyday outfits. I think I started to transition too early in the season, took a step back, and am now having a second go at it. Can you tell I'm the impatient type? ;-) xx

    1. Those New Look jeans - they are my favourites and I spent the other year trying not to wear them incase I wore them out. They didn't used to have rips at the knees but those are the real McCoy rips. And I'm really astounded to think that you like the way they look on me - I always think that of everyone else!

And this transitioning thing - it's like one step forward, two coats back.

  5. Love your patch jeans. I don't know if it's warm enough yet for Tranisitoning to Spring stuff. I tried yesterday but it was freezing so have gone back! X

    1. I have tried. I've actually packed away some of the woolly jumpers that I've washed rather than trying to give them another wear and then doing another wash. They are away now until October hopefully!

  6. I've been in Asia for the past two weeks, so I hope that when I get back it's finally spring time! Can't wait to wear something other than jumpers and jeans!

    1. I always go to Hong Kong around March/April as the temperatures are a little kinder but when you get off that plane in Blighty - it's still a bit of a shock to the old system. I'm just looking forward to getting the sandals on - just some different footwear would be good!

  7. See Sue....I am not alone in wanting to see what you wear everyday! ;0) I must admit I find I am favouring my lighter colour jeans at the moment in a bid to feel a bit more Spring-like! I have started to pack a few of my warmer coats away to make room for a few more Spring-weight jackets in my wardrobe! That said I have scuttled back into a coat today as it was freezing first thing but I've kept it light in colour, I'm donning the TS light grey, let's hope I will be storing this in the not too distant future! xx

    1. Yes I've only had the Zara heavy parka on for the football training sessions in the last couple of weeks so I think we've definitely turned a corner. And it's funny, I was looking at you in the reddish Zara jacket and thinking - I don't have many jackets - I may need to remedy this!

And thank you to you and Becky - I feel a bit like how Marlene always says about wearing the same sort of clothes all the time but then again, I guess we like what we like and we are what we are.

  8. Yay for blue jeans! I love my black ones, but blue is somehow more "spring-y" :) I'm slowly transitioning into spring, today I wore my Nikes for the first time this year.

    1. Wearing the Nikes is a good sign - it's a change from boots and something lighter. I'm looking forward to catching up on your blog a little later - your capsule wardrobe refinement is interesting - I'm speaking as a person who loves to read and find out how other people do it because I know I haven't the slightest hope of ever succeeding. I'm far too susceptible to marketing and all the lovely fads out there. Even though I invariably end up wearing the same things over and over.

  10. aha...i've seen some of these on your instagram already.
I can't say the blue jean rule applies for me as I'm known to wear WHITE (gasp) jeans in the mid winter.
And, of course, it goes without saying you look delish in all of the above combos.

    1. I know - you do well to break all the rules. And white jeans - I still haven't got to grips with them. My legs look soooo bad.

    1. Frances, thank you but you know its so "clean" because I am so lazy don't you? It's just seems that little bit beyond me most mornings to find a nice little accessory to go with something. I do wish I had your oomph in trying trends but then again you look brilliant in everything.

  12. Ha ha! Yes, I noticed before I even got to the bottom of the post! Definitely spring if your blue jeans are on, Sue blocking so stylish as always. I too adore your laid back style. Thanks so much for the lovely mention :-) Lynne xx
