Guest Post - Introducing George. At Leeds Market

Friday 19 October 2012
Hi - my name is George. My mummy is Sue and today she thought it would be fun to let me take over this post. As you can tell, for a three year old, I am remarkably literate and very cheeky. Let's take it away ...................

Mummy said we were going to Leeds market today with Por Por (Grandma) and Auntie.  She said that Auntie wanted to take Ben to the market to pick a fish for his dinner as he loves fish.

This is what Mummy wore.

Topshop Simple Parka (SS12)
New Look Straight Jeans (old)
New Look Namesake Boots
Boden Must Have Jumper (SS12)
Topshop Berry Scarf (AW12)

She gets a bit samey with what she wears but she says she needs to be practical when looking after us boys. She likes this parka from Topshop because it's a bit APC in it's simplicity. She also says the coat has deep pockets which is excellent for hoarding small toys and tissues for snotty noses and grubby hands - I'm forever telling her to leave her toys at home and to stop wiping her nose with her sleeve (just joking mum).

She didn't carry her tatty bag today but changed to another bag because she felt like it.  I think she looks okay for a day out with us boys.

Not another tatty bag!

This is another one of her tatty bags. This is a leather one from Jigsaw which already looked a bit tatty when she bought it. I think Daddy should give her some more money so she can buy some bags which look new. I feel very sorry for her that she has to carry old bags.

Here I am practising my poses for the camera. Mum says the face needs a bit of work - don't know what she means. I think I look "smooth".

The name is George.  George Dude.
One orange juice. Shaken not stirred.

She picked out these clothes for me :

Black Converse, Zara Hoodie, Zara Black Skinnies, Zara Bull Terrier Tee

I like these because Ben used to wear them when he was small and Mummy looked after them really well and now I get to wear them and look like Ben. I really like the way my Converse are getting worn in - I told Mummy that if she climbed some walls, kicked some footballs, fell over a bit more, her white Converse would look like mine.

Not all nice and clean like Mummy's Converse!

And here I am busting some moves in the back garden like only I know how to. When I grow up I want to be a rock star, play drums and throw toys out of the windows of hotel rooms.

Mum says I'm a natural in front of the camera.

And here we are just before we set off in the car. Ben's got a Harvest Festival crown on which he made at school. He thinks he looks a dude in it. I think he looks weird ... but I don't tell him that incase he sits on my head. He also dresses funny. Well he dresses himself but I don't like to comment on his sartorial choices. Incase he sits on my head.

Weird Ben and me.

We had super nosh at our favourite Chinese restaurant. I ate loads and loads and loads and Mummy got quite worried that my belly would pop.  This was my favourite - Chinese custard tarts.  Sorry - not much to show as I ate it all up.

Delish!

Leeds Market is really busy on Saturdays - this is the first time I've been and it was really interesting. There are lots of little stalls selling all sorts of things but we came here today to look at the fish.

Everything under the sun.

We saw live lobsters and crabs.

Mummy says these taste good with ginger and spring onions!

And we even had a little history lesson about Marks and Spencers :

We've all got to start somewhere.

After we bought our fish (and prawns), we looked at the fruit and veg. There's lots of bargains to be had!

We chose strawberries and a big big bunch of grapes (but no cauliflower).

We bought loads of yummy fruit and then it was home time. This is us with our haul. Mummy says there should be some horizontal lines drawn behind us ... something about an I.D. parade? Do you know what she's on about? Maybe it's because we were stealing grapes from the bag as we went to the car. Is that naughty? It shouldn't be - grapes are good for you and adults are always telling us we need to eat more fruit.

Eating the evidence.

Anyway, that's it and I hope you enjoyed my post. I thought it had a slightly fishy theme and as it's Friday and I hear you are supposed to eat fish on a Friday, I thought it would be appropriate. Till we meet again ... au revoir!

------------------------------------------

Thank you George for putting this post together. You are certainly one cheeky chappy!

    1. You put your finger on it! Adorable but yes they do keep me busy. It's a wonder I have time to blog. I think I need an outlet for all that pent up frustration after they've driven me up the wall after a long day with them. But I wouldn't swap them for the world.

    1. Thank you! My mum is quite cool sometimes and really bonkers at others. She says it is her right as my mother to dress me how she pleases and embarrass me as she pleases. What can you do? She's my mother.

    1. Thank you! Kind of scary when you think what potentially could be going on in your little one's head.

I hunted down this parka after it sold out on the Topshop site and then I came across it by chance on the "last chance to buy" rail. I snapped it up. It's a pretty easy piece as it's unlined, big and you can wear as many layers as you like in it without looking too bulky. I'd tell you to get one if you could get one. They did actually do a re-issue but that sold out too.

  6. These images are adorable! The berry scarf is a great colour alongside the parka. Which reminds me that I own nothing in khaki or green, and now I am wondering why exactly, because I do like those shades.

I must catch up properly soon! x

    1. The whole outfit was looking a bit washed out until I popped the scarf on. The berry shade is just perfect and I do love the scarf. I don't have high hopes for it lasting forever in my wardrobe. With it being acrylic (like so many winter offerings out there) - it will pill and that will drive me mad eventually but for the time being, it's doing okay.

I don't have much in the way of khaki apart from two parkas. I'm not sure why I don't have more either as it's such a good neutral.

The berry scarf is just the perfect colour injection my wardrobe needed. I can see this one working hard this winter.

So, does Sue's husband read the posts to get a hint about a new bag?
