Next Teddy Coat (A/W14), H&M Cashmere Jumper, Ebay Wool Scarf
Zara Jeans, Golden Goose Trainers available here and here, Pop Up Boutique Socks

Well I've had this teddy coat from Next a few months now but it's only just made it's first appearance today. Once a hoarder, always a hoarder. eh? And I'm glad I nabbed it last year because if I'd waited till the sale, I would have missed out - I know, I checked :)

And it was cold today. Really cold. Cold enough to make me wear socks. I saw sparkly glittery socks on France's IG feed last year and declared that I needed some but could I find a pair when I went to my branch of Primark to look for them. No. So I put out a distress call which was answered by the lovely Donna who found me some from Pop Up Boutique.  Thank you Donna! I confess now, when I got them, I wasn't loving them on me at all but today with the silver GG's, I thought they looked okay and it was cold and I needed socks.

Did I feel conspicuous in them? No not really - I think they were reasonably subtle in a kooky kind of way. Besides which - I only had to roll my hems down and no one would have been any the wiser.

See!

Hems down!

Anyway, I have to say, the teddy coat is snuggly and warm. One of my warmest coats actually. Unfortunately, it's no longer available but the following are nice alternatives.

This Paisie one from ASOS is a warmer honey shade if you prefer something a little lighter.

And this Pheline Coat from Plumo is probably the most similar to the one I'm wearing.

And glittery socks anyone? I see Topshop are doing them now in gold and gunmetal.

  1. You look so cool Sue! Loving the GG's and the glittery socks! You've inspired me to get my Uniqlo shaggy/furry/fleecy coat out today....it's perfect for the weather out there today! It's bloomin' freezin! xx

    1. I cannot believe how cold it suddenly got - hence the pulling out the big guns coats. It was about time I got the teddy coat out anyway ... it will be spring before we know it (she says hopefully).

  2. I really want a Teddy coat but I just bought a new coat in the January sales and I'm not sure I can squeeze another one in the wardrobe just yet. It does look so snuggly and warm though. Glad to hear I'm not the only hoarder xx

    1. I have a real weakness for coats but they do take up a sizeable amount of wardrobe space. I wanted a teddy coat last year but I missed out on the Warehouse one so I was quite lucky spotting this one and the bonus is that it doesn't drown me. And I don't think we're in the minority on the hoarding front - I'm sure there are quite a few of us out there.

  3. I was very tempted by a cream coloured Teddy coat last weekend in the Topshop sale - it was the snorting from my daughter & sister that put me off :( Really sorry now that I see it on you ... very cute!

    1. Now this is one thing I really didn't think you would like so I'm pleasantly surprised. Part of me was going "wait for it ..." and then to hear that you've been trying them on, I am a little lost for words!

  4. Elodie has a Mini Boden teddy zip up on today in a similar colour, it's so snug and gorgeous. I don't think I've ever seen an adult one. Colour me jealous!

    1. They really are toasty. I've seen a few of these around actually - some look better than others and some look like pet bedding (honestly).

    1. I really am not. I think there's a point when you know you shouldn't go there but with the hems down and a little bit showing, it's not so outlandish. Well no one said anything in the school playground anyway :)

And thank you again for helping me out Donna!

  6. Love the teddy coat! I really do. I used to have one years ago but sadly got rid of it and it wasn't as nice as this. Might have to check out the asos one! ;) xx Julia @ Rainbeaubelle

    1. Hi Julia. I'm pretty glad I managed to nab this one whilst I could. I've actually only seen the teddy coats in the last couple of years and I missed out on last year's Warehouse one which seemed to be the one to get. It might be worth checking out the Paisie one - get it quick - it's pretty cold at the moment so you'd get your wear out of it.

  7. Love this coat on you Sue. So much that I've been browsing for similar for me! The GG'S look fab too. Mine (black and silver ) have only had one outing so far to the Post Office and bck! I can vouch for the Topshop glitter socks BTW. Bagged myself 3 pairs before Christmas plus a pair for a friend ;)

  9. Love the colour of the coat with your grey scarf! The Golden Goose trainers and sparkly socks are great too. It doesn't have to be very cold for me to wear socks - bad circulation.
