New Bag On The Block

Friday 6 November 2015

Well it's taken me a while but I think I've got what I'm looking for. A little animal print bag to give my everyday outfits a little pizazz without having to spend a lot of pizazz.

I toyed with a little Primark bucket bag for £9 seen here but it wasn't for me. This ended up being the main contender on the Mango site but then I decided it might be too big for what I wanted.

And then I found this one.

An animal print pony haired leather lovely from New Look (try saying that quickly). A goodly size but still usable as a clutch bag if need be as the strap is detachable. A veritable multi-tasker which makes it a hardworking winner. And I must like it because I've snipped the labels off and been out and about with it already!

Matalan Fur Coat - old (This one I've tried on is similar here),
H&M Shirt old (I like this one here too),
H&M Distressed Jeans, Nike Roshe Run, New Look Bag

Now if you're paying attention, what you will notice is that the bag online is a different animal print to the one I've got. Why that is exactly I don't know as I've only seen the cheetah print ones in two stores and they seem to be showing leopard print ones online. Yes I know the difference (see here).

However the wallet is showing the cheetah print on my bag. Go figure!

Anyway, I like my cheetah print one :)

    1. I'm not that big on leopard in general Donna - I like small touches of it but never quite got to grips with it so I think this kind of breaks me in gently.

  3. Love this look. Where is the other fur coat, that you have tried on, from. I can't get my link to work.

    1. Hi Nicky. It's one from Wallis actually and I've just amended the link. I tried on the pale grey version of it yesterday in a size small and it's quite a flattering fit (I didn't try the black as I already had a black fur coat). The length is longer than mine by a couple of inches but shouldn't be a problem if you're a bit taller than me (I'm 5ft 1.5inches) and the pile on the coat is very similar to mine. I tried on a size small and I'm a size 10. Hope that helps.

  4. You definitely chose the right one Sue...I am not so keen on animal print on bags and shoes when it is a flat fabric....Much prefer an animal hair effect if you know what I mean?
Love the fact it's leather too!

    1. I always think you know in your heart of hearts if something is right or not and I knew I wasn't happy with the Primark number even though it was a little bargain. And I do prefer an animal print on pony hair too - it just works. And I think the bag is a little bargain for what it is so yep, I'm a happy bunny!

    1. Thank you Sue. It's the perfect size too. My purse isn't that small and fits that in comfortably along with a few folded triangle carrier bags ;o)

  6. What a beauty Sue....New Look have some real gems this season! Love the shade of your cheetah print bag....it will go with so much! I think the sign of a great purchase is ripping the tags off and using it right away so you have obviously found the right one after much research being done! ;0) x

    1. It's a little deeper than some of the leopard/cheetah print bags around but I really like the deep shade of this too. I did nearly reach for another bag to use and then thought to myself - why? Why not use my nice new one and christen it!?
