If You Can't Find What You Want ...

..... make your own.

I had a #widn tag from a fellow Instagrammer @Brumblodwyn who asked me what I was doing and I was actually trimming down a print that I had just created.

I've been up a ladder for the last few days giving a couple of rooms a lick of paint - a bit of a refresh and I decided to change a few of the pics. So scrolling through Pinterest and Etsy, I found some prints I liked but weren't just quite what I wanted. For instance I found a wonderful quote :

on fellow Instagrammer @chloegraceb's Pinterest board (fab source of inspiration). But it was the wrong size and didn't fit the frame I had in mind. So, I took matters in to my own hands and made my own.

  1. I found a background that I liked. My free background was available from here.
  2. I used a font that I found previously which I liked. Mine is called Mom's Typewriter and is available here.
  3. I changed the colours a bit to make it more interesting.
  4. Hit print.

And that's it.

So if at first you can't find what you want. Make your own!

  1. You just gve me an idea! I've been looking for a ball gown for a wedding and the one I have stuck in my head cost more than my wedding dress, but maybe I could just bring a picture to a taylor and had it made....So thanks for that little spark I needed! Oh, and I completely agree with Salinger's statement...

    1. J.D.Salinger was wise!

And having a whole dress made is a tad more ambitious than my print but hey if you can do it and pull it off, why not indeed! And by the way, the wrap with cheese, ham and salad leaves is delicious!

    1. Oh the quotes you can come up with! It's good fun ... I may have wasted a fair bit of the Grumps printer ink before I settled on a few prints I liked. Shhh!

    1. I almost think so but there are people out there who do it so much better and have all the proper materials and stuff to give you a much better product. You do get what you pay for but for little updates around the house, I'm happy to see what I can come up with for myself. Thanks for the vote of confidence though!

    1. Really? Mind you, it depends on how much time you spend on a PC. I love faffing with stuff like this and seeing what comes out of the mix. Have an explore - you might surprise yourself.
