Perfect Denim Dress

Saturday, 25 April 2015

I get a compliment every time I wear this dress. Or rather the dress gets complimented on how lovely it is rather than how lovely I look in it :o/  It's a neat fit on the shoulders (flattering), it has no waistband (accommodating) and it has pockets (useful). Hands up those people who love pockets? Well that's a whole lot of pocket jamming lovers out there - yes indeed!

And who would have thought this dress was from Dotty P's? It's surprising where you find some of your best buys.

Last note :

  • I have a few denim dresses but this is my favourite by far and the one I reach for every time. That's a good sign.
  • This is the closest I can find in the style of mine ... it costs a few pounds more though!

    1. It's a fab dress for the price I paid some years back. And I'm surprised at how few denim dresses there are in this style this year - I must obviously be out of fashion but I don't care as it's really comfy.

  8. Lovely! I have an ancient (15yrs or so) Dotty P denim jacket that comes out every year. It is obviously well made. Price is not always indicative of quality.

I now think, I need a denim dress...

    1. I think everyone's got themselves a denim dress this season. But it's just what style are you after?

And you're right, price is not always indicative of quality. And I love nothing better than proving that with a good bargainous buy!

  9. Lovely to see in a dress for the second day in a row Sue! ;0) (have you decided what to do with the &Other Stories once you shared on Instagram?). You can't beat a little denim dress in Summer, the DP one is a fab little shape, I love the Allexa one too! I enjoyed wearing my shirt-waister style one a couple of weeks back, looking at the weather forecast is doesn't look like the legs will be out again anytime soon! xx

    1. Don't get used to it Michelle! People will think I'm going all soft and girly in my old age. And yes I think I've come to a decision on the Other Stories dress. I think it's going to be a keeper. I wasn't expecting such a positive response to it and when I retried it, although it only works with certain shoes, it's a lovely dress. And I do love the fact it has pockets.

And though it was sunny here today - it was definitely not bare legs weather. Brrr.

  10. Well you're getting another compliment now Sue! You look totally groovy - love it! It will take a lot more preparation for me to get my pins out - it's like threadvain city - nice! x

    1. That's one good thing about my legs - there's not much preparation required apart from some moisturiser to take them out of grey city. And thought they're not that great I've stopped worrying as they're not that bad. Just wish they were longer!

  11. Welll hello! Don't you look lovely?! Who knew that you were hiding such shapely pins under those boyfriend jeans!!

    1. Did you faint? I still remember the time one of my brothers commented "you have legs!!" when I came along wearing something skirt like one day. I wore my jeans again the next day though. Can't give them too much of a good thing :o)

And thank you for the lovely compliment :) You're the sweetest.

    1. I actually think this is a very you dress worn with your Gigis? And it's such a shame that they are not putting out much in the way of these styles this year - they are so easy to wear.

    1. Thank you Andrea. I think it's actually shrunk a fraction in the wash this time round or I'm getting more prudish. I'm showing an inch too much leg!
