I don't know but I've not seen any Equipment silk shirts to compare but I have had two of the Uniqlo silk ones so far and I've loved them so am happy to go for another one!
The Uniqlo shirt is a complete no-brainer....not to say I wouldn't love the Equipment one though! Loving your moment in Carrie's wardrobe Sue, your Aldi tag line is genius too! xx
I saw this earlier and I had to LOL at the fact that you've photoshopped yourself into Carries wardrobe, just brilliant! Personally, I prefer the Equipment one, but I think I'm biased as I have the black in the sleeveless version and it's a dream to wear, it washes so well, and is that silky suede feel. Howver.. if you can be bothered with mail forwarding, Everlane's black silk l/s washed shirt is lovely. Anyway, what am I saying, the Uniqlo one is pretty good for the price! x
I've heard good things about the Equipment shirts and they seem to be the holy grail brand of the silk shirts but the reality is that I won't get the wear to justify having something so expensive stuck in my wardrobe so the Uniqlo one would suit me and my budget for now. If I won the lottery, I would be interested in getting one partly for comparison purposes (daft I know). You can imagine me now with a checklist ticking off the pros and cons of each one can't you? And Everlane just taunts me but I hope to get my hands on a few pieces soon - I have a lovely enabler over in the states by the name of Joanna.
I can't honestly say I love Equipment not having seen any of their shirts to compare but I'm happy with the price of the Uniqlo ones and the quality. Good for those with smaller purses :o)
I love the picture. You have too much time on your' hands ;) I must check out Uniqlo more often. I have some bits and bobs, that are so good, and I have fleeces that N never takes off in the winter. H xx
I'm thinking I know which one you went with... Funny because I've always THOUGHT I wanted an equipment shirt, all the hype and all those beautiful colors. But you know, when I've tried them on, they just don't fit me quite right and some of them are too sheer for my taste as well. So, not just the price point that makes them less than ideal.
Carrie's, Carrie's, Carries's! You've just reminded me I had started from Series 1 last week and haven't watched an episode in a few nights! Michelle just directed me over to Uniqlo for the merino and I spied the silk reduced. There is a sleeveless one I am after....haven't checked out yet though.x
A word on working with brands and affiliate links.
In the interests of transparency I do mark at the beginning of a blog post if an item has been gifted or if it's a paid collaboration with a brand. If affiliate links are used, I will also mark this at the beginning of a blog post so you are aware that if you click on the link I will earn a very small commission from those brands. There is no cost to you however if you click on that link, I may however earn enough in a year for a lunch.
Carrie Bradshaws and I want to know how you made that picture! x
ReplyDeleteCorrect and with a lot of faffing! I'm still wondering myself how I managed to pull that off!
DeleteHow can that be possible. And how can an equipment look a like be so different in price. On second thoughts don't answer that.

ReplyDeleteI would love a real moment in Carrie's wardrobe not that I would fit in anything apart from the shoes - but hey - I love shoes!
DeleteBrilliant......anything you could borrow from there?? That shirt is such a great buy, off to take a look too!! Helen xx
ReplyDeleteI do like a little bit of Uniqlo to build up the wardrobe basics. It's definitely worth a look.
