Lace Dress

Tuesday 4 June 2013

I spotted this today on the H&M website. 100% cotton lace. I repeat. 100% cotton lace. A lovely Guipure lace at that. And affordable at £39.99. Divine. Gorgeous. Yum Scrum. Hubba hubba. Can you say hubba hubba about a dress?

Because even tomboys have girly days.

Anyway, I just thought I'd share. I was always taught it was good to share.

    1. That's one way to style it! Could I borrow your leather jacket then? I don't actually have one believe it or not.

  2. Haha always love your posts. It's true, even the most tomboy-ish occasionally will throw caution to the wind and surprise you with something so pretty. Love this dress, looks great for H&M!

    1. I could see you in this dress but I would chop it quite short for you to show off your legs. But it is a lovely design and quite unexpected for H&M.

  3. Swoon, totally love this! I've just bought a new dress but my eldest has a party and a wedding to go to soon so I may get it for her, even though I want it really!

    1. It's lovely - get it for your eldest for a party but not for a wedding - she might get mistaken for the bride and that will never do. I think it's a hard dress to wear though lovely as it is.

  4. Oh my, that IS pretty! I wonder how it would look on me.. I'm trying to avoid HM, though. It feels like bad karma to shop there on account of recent events.

    1. Maja, it would look fab on you with your biker boots and you would have to edge it up with some black accessories. I think you actually have the perfect height and bodyshape to carry this one off actually.

  5. Hmmm, I'm not sure! It's a bit Miss Havisham for me ... but I'd love to see it on you because no doubt you'd change my mind!

    1. The Miss Havisham bit is not entirely lost on me. Yes, I can definitely see it being modelled with a bunch of flowers and a veil. Don't give me bad ideas!

  6. I love it but would chop a foot off the end of it as I think that length could be tricky to carry off...have your ordered? Would love to see it on a real person. Oh and big thanks for my parcel too - will message you x

    1. I was looking at it and I would like it with a slight more slash neck and probably take it up to my knee at least. And then .... dye it. Because I want to do another dye job on something. But what colour?

      Glad you like the bracelets!

  7. It's beautiful but possibly a bit too reminiscent of my wedding dress for daily 'wearage'.

I still haven't forgotten the green lace Zara skirt I tried on a while back (bet that wasn't cotton though!)... am hoping it might go into the sale.

    1. Ah - you did lace on your big day did you? I was thinking for those girls on a budget and having a civil ceremony, town hall or something, this would be perfect wouldn't it?

I thought you actually came home with the green Zara skirt but it appears not. Fingers crossed for you that it comes up in the sale.

  8. Such a beautiful dress! I'd love to see it on too! 100% cotton is just what I need here & defo agree it would be gorgeous with a leather biker & a pair of ankle boots too! Ax

    1. Another one for an edgy look. It is beautiful but I haven't actually seen it in real life and it does look rather challenging to wear. But a challenge is good isn't it?

  9. It's gorgeous but SUCH a hard length to wear for anyone of any height
I would love to see this on you - or me - or anyone else as I'm not convinced!

    1. You have the model proportions of height and slimness - you could carry this off. But would love to see how you style this one.

    1. I think it's possible. Hmmm... and it's cotton. Could dye it too. And alter the neckline. Hmmm. All these things I could do with it ... or maybe move on and find a dress which is just perfect?

  11. Gorgeous. I'm looking desperately for a dress to wear for a wedding - I wish it was navy blue.

    1. Agreed, it would be much easier to wear if it was navy blue. And I've just checked - it's all sold out!

  12. You can indeed say, "Hubba Hubba," about a dress! It's nice to see it on the model. Fit differently than it looks flat. Very pretty!

    1. It is pretty isn't it? But it wouldn't suit me - I can't do the high neckline. I still like it though and it's great when they show it on a model - it really helps you to picture it.

  15. This dress is beautiful...except I don't like it when the lining is significantly shorter than the dress and it shows....for some reason, I don't like the look of it. It's just me I know. Ha....
