Lulu & Co Rainbow Jumper

I caved :o/

There was only one left in my size on NAP. I've been watching this since the NAP sale started. It was the only thing I was really holding out for. I ordered it and kind of hoped it wouldn't fit and was horrid.

And of course I loved it on sight. For goodness sake, it's a grey jumper at the end of the day but it just happens to have an embroidered multi coloured lurex rainbow on it. Love!

So I banked on it being a horrid fit. Nop - it fitted exactly as I would have liked - just on the right side of fitted loose. As Goldilocks would say about all Baby Bear's things .... "it was just riiiiigggghhhht".

Or was it? Those 2 pics above are after I gave the rainbow a press with a cloth and iron. Can you spot a slight bump in the rainbow? Before that, it looked like this which I just put down to the way it had been packed.

Arghgh! So giving it a press helped but didn't get rid of it entirely and if you look carefully at the top picture of the model - I swear there's a bump in the rainbow on her jumper - I have spent more time scrutinising her chest than I care to admit.

So that's kind of killed the jumper for me. I did really want to keep it, it was fun and even the Grumps said he'd go out with me in it but I can't - that slight bump is nothing short of annoying and as it wasn't that cheap - I did want it to be "just riiiiigggghhhht".

So all is not lost ... there is hope at the end of another rainbow. I might try this one next!

  1. You and your perfectionist - too funny. I feel a surge of rainbow jumpers popping up all over my social media after this post x

    1. I've not seen any other rainbow jumpers popping up anywhere. I don't think anyone else wants to look like a CBeebies presenter except me!

  2. No you are not seeing things, there is a bump on the model's jumper too. It really suits you, but the bump I think would do your perfectionist head in and you wouldn't wear it.xx

    1. There is isn't there - I wonder is it's the way it's been embroidered - it is a little strange. If the bump stays, it will drive me nuts - I might give it another press before I decide whether the DHL man needs to pay me a visit.

  3. I absolutely love it and I think I could overlook the bump thing as I'd be very sorry to wave that jumper goodbye with the DHL guy.

    1. I would be very sorry too - I'll give it another iron and decide tomorrow. If I can't sort it - that's it. And it would be a shame - it's cute and I don't often do cute.

  4. I love it - looks totally great on you, but understand why it couldn't stay. Pesky imperfections! *shakes fist* There is definitely a bump on the one on the model... xx

  5. Oh no....you're setting us all off again! Love this Sue but having just stared at yours & the models chests for longer than I'd care to admit there is a definite bump thing going on! I however would have bump denial & keep it! x

  6. I can see it too!! Such a shame, it's a fab jumper, but at least it means that we won't all have to go out and get one now. I'm not sure the old credit card could take it! ;-)

    1. It's not the cheapest so it should be "just riiiiiigggghhhht" shouldn't it? I'm going to spend a little time tomorrow seeing what I can do - if it's not fixed, it will have to go :(

  7. Oh I would have kept it - it is absolutely darling! Although I totally get it, if something bugs you, it'll keep bugging you!

    1. It's fun Jamie-Lee. Like your Charlotte Olympia kitty pumps - they're fun and I love them. Not my normal thing but sometimes it's good to do something a little different especially if it makes you smile.

  8. It looks like the same jumper!! Could be. It would annoy me too. Pity as it is really lovely. x

    1. I spent ages googling for different images of the same jumper - I had to prove it to myself.

  9. They may reduce it further for you if you ask and tell them there is a fault with it?

    1. I think it's only a problem on the grey mohair jumpers. The sweatshirt versions look fine. I still like the brand though :) and I wouldn't be averse to trying to source another one if the price was right.

  11. Definitely return. It'd drive you mad! Not worth keeping if it's not right. Lynne xx

    1. I did - I waved it goodbye the other day. It wasn't right.

  12. That is such a cute sweater, but I do agree about the crease especially when it is expensive you really expect the print to sit flat, obviously a flaw in production that they hope people won't notice! Good luck with the next style! Xxx

    1. If you are paying good money, I expect a good finish. That crease was really spoiling it for me. And I'll get there on the rainbow front ... providing I don't get bored by then.
