Well it is Valentine's day after all isn't it? What better day than Valentines Day to wear a jumper like this? To be honest, I actually wore it yesterday but what's a day between friends? By the way, I flipped the picture so you could read what was emblazoned across my chest.
Gap Jumper (old)
I was having a rummage through the wardrobe and this one fell off the hanger. It does that because it has a wide neckline and kamikaze tendencies. Oh and it's not new (breathe Grumps breathe), it's an oldie ... last seen here. And I thought I'd experiment with camera angles as I once read somewhere that sometimes it's more fun and interesting to take pictures at funny angles. A bit like this .....
... but I'm not really sure ... because all it really does is make you tilt your head to the right doesn't it? Ahh!! You did it didn't you! Got ya! So I think we'll just carry on as we are, okay?
That's better isn't it?
Anyway, spot the two blobs of colour on my wrist? This is one of my new bracelets that I made for fun the other week but I've had some positive responses to them so I've put them on the shop. I think after the miserable weather we've had and all the grey/navy/black everyone has been wearing, a little bit of colour is just what the doctor ordered.
And I made some mother of pearl button bracelets too .....
.... and some other little small gemstone and heart ones.
(The blue is my personal favourite (just so you know ;o)) Goes lovely with a pale blue denim shirt!)
And no I didn't forget about the rabbit one which some of you enquired about.
I know there is a big love for statement jewellery out there right now and they look wonderful on the right outfits but for someone like me who is a more casual dresser, something simpler works much better with the clothes I wear.
See!
Anyway, have a look in the shop and treat yourself why don't you? Just incase your other half forgot to!
Love your "Love" top & distresses jeans - love the "kiss" written on the sleeve cuff of the jersey too- that's different!! Your bracelets are lovely designs- they are really delicate - very nice.

I don't actually wear this jumper very much because of the neckline but since I resorted to putting a vest top underneath it, it's fine. It's one of those which sits in the wardrobe but never gets cut for some reason - I guess I find it quite charming. And thank you about the bracelets :o)
DeleteOh, I didn't know you made bracelets. They're lovely. And actually statement jewellery is well on its way out so these are perfect.
ReplyDeleteOne question...are the bracelets leather or some other material? Thanks.
You can take photos - I can make jewellery :o)
DeleteThe bracelets are a combination of both. I use leather cord on some and a waxed leather cord on the others - it depends on what I think suits the bracelet. You can pick and mix it all up anyway you like as I make them to order. So if you like something in a design but not the colour, I can alter it for you depending on what I have available. Was that a good sales pitch there?
Liking the jumper Sue - it's my kind of jumper that (although I'd need a scarf of sorts in this weather!). And yes at the moment I'm embedded in blacks and greys - although I did wear bottle green for work this week - get me! Also with you on the statement thing - being a more casual dresser myself too - like the gemstone and heart bracelet. Also - I like the odd angled picture (as you may know - or may not actually) and one last thing - your hair looks really good - I want my hair to be like that but it won't in a million years! Sorry - I'm going now!
ReplyDeleteI did bob on a cardigan a little later - don't forget I am a bit nesh like you but it was nice and sunny early on when I took the pics and the sun warms the house a bit. And you did some colour eh? Bottle green? You like the dark side don't you?
DeleteThanks about my hair - it's not been behaving recently as well so if you think it looks okay - phew!
The little green bead reminds me of jade; I love that. And I'm going to have to admire your Zara shirt again--I guess I really am a shirt girl.
ReplyDeleteAventurine does quite often get mistaken for jade - the colour is very reminiscent but I am inclined to think that jade is a little more opaque and probably a little more expensive too.
DeleteAnd admire away on the Zara shirt - I'm pretty pleased with this purchase too.
They're so pretty, Sue. Off to check out your shop now. Lynne x
ReplyDeleteThanks Lynne!
DeleteLove the simplicity of your bracelets - very pretty. My OH actually got me something this year even though we gave up on valentines years ago. I got him nothing :(
ReplyDeleteThank you Claire. I have to confess that I am not a big Valentine celebrator or anything and I tend to ignore it a little but yep the Grumps surprised me this year with a card. Woo hoo! I'd have shot him if he'd had bought me any flowers - he's allowed to but not during Valentines week when the prices get hoicked up.
DeleteYour bracelets are so pretty and I like the unusual camera angle, might try that myself! x
ReplyDeleteSo you going to make me cock my head to the right everytime I look at your photos now? Hmmm....
DeleteFab that you are stocking the bracelets now Sue.....may have just made a little purchase or 2 ;0)
ReplyDeleteGreat sweater....how perfect for Valentines day too! xx
Thanks Michelle! I'll get on to the order!
DeleteThat jumper is lovely, could easily pass for a designer one. Your light is always great. I always feel like good weather on on the way after reading your posts - can u tell I'm desperate for some sun!! Loving the new bracelets too, must pop over to shop for a wee look. X
ReplyDeleteThe light is great where I take my pictures - it makes the world of difference. I have a big window letting light in to the right of me and it bounces off the pale walls. My pictures could have been a whole different ball game if I'd had the mirror placed anywhere else - I think it was pure luck and destiny for me to start the blog. So when you are decorating your new house - have a good think where you want your mirror!
DeleteI get so many compliments on my Susie Ho bracelet! I'm going to buy another one for me and one for my mum right now. But I can't decide which ones...
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that about your bracelet Hannah! And you take your time deciding - you know where I am :o)
DeleteIf my wrist is 16cm just above the wrist bone do you recommend a 16 or 17cm bracelet?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
A 16cm bracelet. I tend to put a couple of links on to give a bit of leeway depending on the style of the bracelet and if it's fastened with a loop - again, you can tighten up the knot as much as you need. Are you tempted?
DeleteThanks yes I have been :-) I also love Blue and have a new j crew denim shirt I got from eBay to collect tomorrow so it will go perfectly!
Deletelove your LOVE jumper and I your bracelets are very you, simply stylish! x
ReplyDeleteI thought you were going to say the bracelets were very me - very simple then ;o)
DeleteOff to have a browse right now, because those bracelets are gorgeous. And as somebody else has already said, I think the statement jewellery phase is almost coming to an end. The great thing is .. if I make up my mind quickly enough, I can maybe get a personal delivery??!!!!
ReplyDeleteYes - personal delivery can be arranged! But just for you.
DeleteAnd if statement jewellery is coming to an end - what's everyone going to wear in the evenings now?
I love those little bracelets, I do love the bright pom pom one and the pale blue stone, am going to check out your shop and place an order at the end of the month, cool jumper too perfect for (pre) valentines! Xx
ReplyDeleteI do the pale blue stone one in a pink as well - I've just not put it on the shop. When I think of you, I always think pink. But not in a bad way.
DeleteGorgeous jumper Sue & your bracelets are lovely & so delicate, off to take a peak at your shop!
ReplyDeleteJane xx
My Midlife Fashion
I'm quite the jewellery opposite to you aren't I Jane? Doesn't mean I can't appreciate a good statement necklace, I just think they look much better on everyone else than me.
Deletewow - love love love the bracelets ....
ReplyDeleteLove your jumper too
I'm off to peruse your shop!
Anything catch your eye?
DeleteYour delicate bracelets are so pretty. I especially like the mother of pearl button ones and the blue which is perfect with your pale denim shirt. As much as I like statement jewellery, I think sometimes it can be too much.

I love statement jewellery - I do actually look at it - I just don't buy. Or maybe the pieces that I really like - I can't afford. I actually started making jewellery to make the pieces that I wanted to wear.
DeleteSo nice!

Thank you!
DeleteHi Sue, I have been a bit absent recently with lots going on.....but just to say your jewelery is so delicate and tastefully pretty, perfect for valentines/birthday gifts too! Love the sweater as well, even if it only comes out once a year!! xx
ReplyDeleteYou been busy too! I'm barely scraping by with a blog post per week.
DeleteMy jumper only comes out once a year because I don't like wearing it as it's navy and attracts fluff ... and I never feel like it sit quite right. It's one of those "very nearly" pieces but there's just something amiss.
oh what a gorgeous sweater sue. i'm a big fan of nice type, especially on clothes! bummer that it's old though, if only because i can't get one ;) hope you had a great valentine's with your boys! x
ReplyDeletesteph / absolutely-fuzzy.com
Do you know what Steph? I just had a brilliant idea. You could go and buy a plain navy jumper and take it to one of those embroidery places and get them to embroider something similar on? Infact, I like that idea ... a lot!
Deletesuddenly i'm looking at a whole wardrobe of blank clothing and a whole lotta words! genius sue!
DeleteWhat a cute top that is: all you need is love. I like it. Re your bracelets, I agree that delicate jewellery can work really well for work (have you seen the range at & Other Stories? Its very nice), and your pieces are charming. Lovely to know where they came from, too - I think the provenance of items is becoming very important to consumers.
ReplyDeleteSuper quick thought: how about some jewellery with metal chains, rather than leather? it changes the look, but might be good for --lazy-- people like me who keep their jewellery on for days and find the leather gets sodden?
ReplyDeleteLove! Love the jumper & all of your gorgeous bracelets! You clever thing you! Ax
