Aldi Lacura Caviar Illumination Creams
Just before Christmas, I sent a message to my friend Michelle to get herself to an Aldi first thing in the morning to bag a Lacura Caviar face cream pack. Why so important? Well, the cream had been compared to La Prairie's Skin Caviar Protection range which costs a couple of hundred pounds more and the Aldi (£6.99 for 50ml) version hadn't fared too poorly in the reviews (see here). And they were doing a special pack offer of both the night cream and the day cream for £12.99. Well, you've got to try haven't you if you can get your hands on it.
Unfortunately, Michelle didn't manage to get herself any at the time but sent me a gleeful message just last night to say she had got her hands on a couple of pots in store! So I dashed off this morning and bagged myself two jars and here I am typing this up to tell you - she's right! They're back in store and they look like they are becoming part of the main skincare range so you don't need to all make a mad dash for them ... unless you really want to. Like I did.
I can't tell you anything about it apart from it smells lovely and I'm going to ditch my old face creams stuff (which I can't abide the smell of anyway) and start using this from this evening. Heaven knows I need all the help I can get at my age.
Thank you Michelle - mwah!

Would love to have an update after you've tested them out for a while. I'm always on the look out for a fab inexpensive day cream!!!
ReplyDeleteI will have to remember to do that. I'm a bit rubbish on the old beauty front - I don't know the first thing about it and I don't know how to review really and it will be dependent on if I get through a jar - I'm really bad for not finishing products before moving on to the next thing.
DeleteWill be scouring the shelves at my local Aldi on my next shop! Thanks for the tip Sue. Sue xx
ReplyDeleteYou have Michelle from Myfashionable40s to thank for that. I wasn't aware that they were bringing it out again until it cropped up in a chance conversation. I was there at my Aldi like a shot!
DeleteI've heard so many good things about this cream I've been desperate to try it. I was gutted to have missed out on it before Christmas but I had heard it would be a permanent fixture on the shelves from the 28th January so I was delighted to find it in Aldi on Tuesday! I've only used it a couple of times but I like it! I never saw the article you linked to....interesting! Thank you Sue, for the lovely mention and the information....glad to be of service in helping you secure some more! xx
ReplyDeleteWell I hadn't got round to opening my set from before Christmas so I have a few jars to get through now so I'd better like it! But so far, so good, I like the smell and actually that is really quite an important thing. I stopped using Lancome Hydra Zen when they changed the fragrance. Fickle I am! Anyway, let's hope we will be looking like teenagers soon ;)
DeleteI had the heads up from a friend that our local Aldi had these back in stock and hotfooted it down there to pick some up! So far I'm impressed, and am umming and ahhing about going back for more before it disappears. If it's going to be a permanent fixture I'll calm down though! xx
ReplyDeleteWell I only heard on the grapevine that it was going to be a permanent thing. I rather like the cream - one of the nicest I've tried in a while - I actually look forward to putting it on as I just like the smell.
DeleteI went into Aldi today but couldn't find the cavier range on the shelf but did see it in a locked perspect display box. So I asked one of the assistants and she said they are not kept on display but are under the counter at the checkout. Low and behold did my shopping then at the till I was given 2day and 2night. Only 4 per customer. Very happy bunny here.
ReplyDeleteThis dress is stunning and sophisticated looking. The color looks perfect with your blonde hair! I also love the nude heels paired with it.
ReplyDeleteformal long dresses
I was given a night and day cream set at Christmas. I have sensitive, combination/dry patches oily t zone with a bit of occasional rosacea to boot, and I am a product junkie ( I've tried a lot of creams and am an advertisers dream..I get sucked in every single time) I love the Aldi creams and will re purchase ( I very rarely do that)....the price is also a relief! x
