Hi, I just borrowed a PC to pen this quick post to say I'm out of action until my laptop has dried out from its close encounter with a tonic water. Hope to catch up with everyone soon.
It sounds very poorly - it's making clicking whirring noises. I'm actually very worried for it. I've just sneaked the hubbys laptop to catch up on the world. Fingers crossed it recovers!
Water all out - the Grumps was around and swooped in to action and we had it propped upside down for a bit to let any last drops work their way out. Half the keys are not working and then they go mad and letters go across the screen which I didn't type (like spooky ghost). Just tried it again and though it switches on - it doesn't like keyboard functions. Feel at a bit of a loss without my trusty laptop! Might have to commandeer the Grumps laptop till we work out what to do.
Yikes! My laptop once bathed in coffee, which the tech guy said would actually have been ok had I been drinking it black, but the milk in there killed it. Dead laptop. So sad. Tonic water sounds like you might be in the clear when it all dries out. Just don't rush into turning it on again, you don't want anything short-circuiting cause it's wet! Good luck!
Well it was slimline tonic :o) so at least there wasn't sugar gluing the bits up but I've no idea whether it will survive. I think it needs a trip to the Apple doctor. And so close to Christmas too! which usually means everyone shuts shop. I hope it recovers.
A word on working with brands and affiliate links.
In the interests of transparency I do mark at the beginning of a blog post if an item has been gifted or if it's a paid collaboration with a brand. If affiliate links are used, I will also mark this at the beginning of a blog post so you are aware that if you click on the link I will earn a very small commission from those brands. There is no cost to you however if you click on that link, I may however earn enough in a year for a lunch.
Oh, hope your laptop recovers soon!

ReplyDeleteOh no! That sound would be the fan. Did you shake out all the water?
